Manly Word Games Card

2 May
Today I am using a set I just received called:  Where You Should Be
I wanted to be part of 2 different challenges with this.  One challenge is for the Unity Opportunity Blog.
It is their NOTHING GIRLY challenge.
The other challenge is over on Practical Scrappers.  The Challenge is called WORD GAMES.
It was quite a challenge not to incorporate Nothing Girly on here, but I think I did alright!
The WORD GAME challenge was a fun one to follow to.
So there you have it, my Wednesday Wowzer.  I just love working with {ippity} stamps, if you have not had a chance, you are really missing out!
This has been Jeannie DeGruccio from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Mother Daughter Wednesday Wowzer Time

4 Apr
I had a busy work week so far and my daughter was so sweet to try and do my card for this post. while I was at work tonight.
I will show her card after I show you the card I was able to come up with before going to bed.
It’s so much fun to get new stamps in the mail to play with.
I can’t show you this whole set, but I am using one of the sentiments, from this set, for this card.
The set is called Let your Heart Take Flight.
Since the sentiment is supposed to be the star of the card, I kept the rest of the card pretty simple.
Using paper from My Minds Eye Dolled Up and dies from Cheery Lynn Designs…I think the card is perfect for the challenge.  It also will go along with the challenge that is up on the GHWI blog, GHWI Challenge #18.
I had a busy work week so far and my daughter was so sweet to try and do my card for this post.
She tried to focus on the sentiments also, by stamping them on white.
She used the {ippity} set called:  Straight From the Heart.
Here is her card: (She is 13 & I think she did pretty good for her age group!)
So there you have it…a mother and daughter post for you today on this Wednesday Wowzer.

Wowed by WOW EMBOSSING POWDERS

11 Jan
Hello blogging world, today I am sharing my first project here for the fantastically yummy embossing powders by WOW.
I created a fairly simple layout so that the colors of the powders would really stand out.
I started with a picture that I manipulated in PSE.  I wanted the picture and my title to be the background paper.  Here is what I started with.
Yep, that’s me..goofy I know but it is what I wanted!!
I had the image of what I wanted to do in my head, and here is what I dreamed up!
When I look at this layout, I am just giddy.
I used the Wow Beautiful Clear Stamp set called GRATITUDE.
All the embossing powders I used are from the CANDY COUNTER COLLECTION–Berrylicious, Whirly Pop, Sour Lemon, Gummy Bear Green, Bubble Gum & Cotton Candy.

This is for a book I have decided to do about me.
We all have things that are unique, things that make us who we are.
I am a Sunday School teacher for teenagers and this past Sunday I was talking about the importance of journaling.  I had this MOMENT while planning my lesson that I wanted to do a book about the nuances that make me who I am.  I told my class about this and told them that journaling can be really fun.
I told them it was my promise I would start myself and that I would create something and bring it to church the following Sunday.
Now that I have my first page I can’t wait to do others.
The WOW embossing powders will come in very handy during this process!
Sorry, for my ramble…I just thought I’d let you know what my page was all about!
Thanks for the visit and I hope you get a chance to play around with these fun powders!

Here I am today on this thrilling Thursday with a post to get your creative mojo going.

I am using the set Sweet Cakes.

To start with this project, I stamped the cupcake base and phrase and scanned it into my computer.

I then made the cupcake base in 3 colors and enlarged the phrase so that is almost 2x as big as the original.

I put the printer on mirror mode and printed the images onto some t-shirt transfer paper.

I knew I wanted to have the cupcake tops in 3 different prints, so I put some fusible web on the back of my fabrics.

I trimmed the excess fabric off, so that when I stamped the front of the fabric, no matter where, I knew I would have the fusible web for stabilization on the back.

Here are my tops ready to be trimmed, however I will only trim the bottom of the cupcakes at this point.

With the tops ready to go, I need to iron on my cupcake liners and phrase.

Here they are ready to go.

I do not like to used the iron on adhesives, so I just tacked the tops down with some Fabri Tac.

Next step is to satin-stitch along the cupcake top’s outlines.

Here you can see they are all stitched and now I need to trim off the excess fabric.  I choose to do it this way because it is easier for me to stitch when I have a bit of a “buffer zone”.

Cupcakes are done.

Here is the happy girl with her new outfit.

I think this is such a fun way to use stamps.

She agrees!

What stamps do you have lying around that you could try something like this with?

Think of the possibilities, they are endless!

If you think you might try it out, you have to let us know and give us a link to come and see your creation!

This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post!

I hope you are inspired to do something fun.

Wednesday Wowzer PLUS!!

How are you today?

It is ME, you know the blog writer, with a fun new project with some {ippity} stamps.

I can say I do make these things for fun, but it is my effort to invite you over to I Heart {ippity} in hopes that you will try these fun stamps for yourself.

It also happens to be a time for celebration.  Our {ippity} leader in inviting you all to her birthday celebration where she is having some FABULOUS giveaways.

Be sure to check her HOME blog here:

Today I wanted to show you a little ornament I came up with using the set CUPPY CAKES.

I took a Canvas Corp star and stamped the cupcake image onto it…

…I then stamped the cupcake on to various papers from the

My Minds Eye Ooh La La For Her line.

I added some hot fix pink pearls in swirl fashion and made the BABY trinket from Epiphany Crafts Shape Tool that I got the most wonderful deal on from YOUR SCRAPBOOK SUPPLY.

My final touch was to add the dangling beads and a flower made from Cheery Lynn Designs new roll up flower called CUTIES 3.  I made it this way so it could be used as a Baby’s 1st Christmas OR just a BABY of the family ornament.  It could even just be a room decoration, what do you think?

Think outside the box, that seems to be my motto!

Head on over to I Heart {ippity} we have such creative gals!

I love everything they make, every week.

Go and see for yourself.

Have a great day and remember this is the season of giving, not the season of stress and greed!  Relax and enjoy and don’t get caught up in the worldly view of this season.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Lovely Card with Cheery Lynn Desings

25 Nov
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Forgive me for not jumping right into the Christmas Season with my post.  Time passes much too quickly and I did not want to think about Christmas when I had a kitchen full of Thanksgiving dishes to take care of.
So, I made a wonderful love/Valentine’s card.
I used a new release die called Heart within my Heart and also our Heartland America Large die on this card.
Instead of using the Heartland America die as a die, I used it to emboss my background.
I just adore the new Heart within my Heart die.  It has a thicker outline that is a lot of fun and I love all the small heart cut outs.  You can see I saved them all and used them as embellishments too.
I know you will love all the new dies, the flowers, the doilies, the hearts and everything else are just amazing to work with.
Be sure to check out the whole line of new dies here.
ALSO…Have you checked out our weekly challenges?  Our current challenge is RED & GREEN.
Check out all the details here:
By entering, you have a chance at a 20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs.
Be sure to follow the rules and play along!
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting today.  This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Tuesday with Sweet Stamps

1 Nov

It’s Tuesday and remember what that means?   A new challenge, a chance for you to win a $20.00 shopping spree to Sweet Stamps.com!

Not only do they have terrific stamps, they also have tons of accessories and add new stuff every month.

This week the challenge is called:

So Thankful – Whatever you are thankful for

I admit, I stretched the theme a little, I couldn’t help it!

I am thankful for my sewing machine.

I just printed my saying on a piece of background paper using Microsoft word and then created my card.

I used the stamp called:

DRESDEN FLOWER BORDER

I paper pieced the stamped image with paper and fabric.

The Ruler Paper Border is from the Authentique Paper line called:

Blissful

The leaves are done with the die called:

Judy’s Blooms

I added some extra embellishments and sewed around the edge to keep with the sewing theme.

I hope you like my take on the So Thankful theme.

I would love for you to see what the other Design Team Members have made for this challenge.

Head on over to Sweet Stamps blog and prepare to be wowed!

There is so much talent on our team.

Have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs Vintage Touch

20 Sep
This is somewhat of a combined post for me as I have made today’s project for both Sweet Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs.
I am helping a Cheery Lynn Designs DT member and we have traded days, just for this week.
Normally I make cards for Sweet Stamps, but today Sweet Stamps new theme starts and the theme is:
So, I made a Scrapbook page.
I have put so many fun things on this layout I do not know where to begin.
All my flowers are made with our new STACKER FLOWERS.
In addition to the Stacker Flowers, I have also used the following dies:
That Gorgeous floral swag is Sweet Stamp’s
By cutting of the oval outline, I was able to create these floral swags.
I also framed the first letter of my saying with the POSTAGE STAMP stamp.
Here is a side view to see all the dimension in our new Flower Stackers.
These flowers are just gorgeous and so easy to assemble.
Most of my paper supplies and embellishments are from my September Tally Scrapper’s Monthly Kit.
I am also entering this in the Tally Scrapper’s September Kit Challenge .  I have to use at least 75% of supplies for the page from my Tally Scrapper kit and my theme has to be VINTAGE.  So, how do you think I did?
The saying is from a song by a funny little group called Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes.
The line I used is “Home is wherever I’m with you.”
My hubby and I just had this picture takes at his 30th high school reunion last weekend.  It was the perfect picture for this layout that just dreamed up.
I could not have done this layout with out all my Alphas and Tiny Types from Authentique Paper.
I hope you have enjoyed my post today.  I had so much fun putting it all together.
I will be back next Friday with another fun project for Cheery Lynn Designs, so until then..bye for now.
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.
