Fridays with Cheery Lynn Designs

25 Mar

It is a wet and rainy Friday here in “Sunny” California.

We thought Spring was here, but I guess Mother Nature has a bone to pick with us or something.

I have some springtime projects to share, thinking that Spring will be here…soon?

See the hand in the picture below?  That is my 6 year old sons hand.

He gets jealous I always use his sister as my model, so today he is the star.

His hands are small and so is my little spring project he is holding.

I started making this cone with the largest

Scalloped Circle in the Large Circle Stackers.

I am using the Core’ dinations Whitewash Collection in this project.

I embossed the paper with the BANDANA embossing plate.

I then lightly sanded to reveal the core.  I think it looks like my cone is dusted with powdered sugar.

I used the Daisy Chain Border Die to wrap around the cone and also to create the handle.
These are so tiny, they would hold a couple of pieces of chocolate.
Perfect size for a little love.

I know this might sound silly, but because this was such a small piece, I felt like I needed to show another project I just finished.

This was a little time consuming and required lots of patience but the final result was well worth it!

I started cutting the paper from the Wittle Weaver Die.

I then attached them all, forming one continuous strip and then I created the lantern.

Mono-filament thread, crystals, pearls and butterfly’s dangle from the bottom to add to the eye appeal and fun.
Of course I used the BUTTERFLY BUNDLES DIES for my butterflies.

Now that the weekend is here, have I inspired you to go an make something for Spring?
I hope so.  Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Friday and I will be back next week.

Jeannie, what fabulous projects! I love that lantern, it is just so cheery and your little ice cream cone is an adorable treat. Great job.

The cone is great for Christmas or Easter decorations! Love the lantern too- super cute- I imagine several of them hanging in a group- the butterflies on a string are a great addition.
