Gel a Tins with Authentique Paper

23 Feb

I had such a fun time with this card.  I blew the dust off the ole Cricut and used the Create a Critter cartridge.

I am using all Authentique Papers from the 2 lines called:

Gathering & Celebrate

I am using the Gel a tins stamps called:

Love Knots

First, I embossed the stamp onto a piece of paper in black.

I adhered it to my card front as shown below.

Next I embossed the Love Knots stamp onto the tree branch and phrase in white.

Then comes the fun part…putting the card together.

A close up of the darling owl!  Isn’t it adorable??

To keep the card closed, I used a homemade repositionable glue dot under the bottom of the owl.

It lies nice and flat and opens nice an easily:)

I hope you like this as much as I do…

Floral Beauty with Authentique Paper and Cheery Lynn Designs

17 Feb
Today I am using more of the New Release dies.
I have made this colorful floral card.
I am so in love with the paper!
I am using my Scalloped Oval Reflections dies today.
I love using the reflections dies that I have for cards.
I used the Reflections Scalloped Oval to create the background.
After I cut out 2 different sizes of the oval, only using the die as a 1/2 cut, I ran them through my Big Shot using the Wittle Wicker to emboss the 1/2 oval shapes.
I then cut some of the Mini Flourish Ones out in black and made my own rolled flowers with Judy’s Blooms as my flower base and some Scalloped Oval Stackers for my rolled flowers.
I added some Lace Corner Deco B‘s as the final touch.
If you have not seen all our new release dies, be sure to check them all out here.
Also be sure to check out our current Challenge, PRETTY IN PINK.
By participating, you have the chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs!
Hope you have enjoyed my post today, this has been Jeannie, have a great day.

Gel a tins Animal Magnetism

16 Feb

This card is just a fun, innocent card!

I just couldn’t help wanting to make this ANIMAL card, when I started working with this sweet little set.

The set is called:

Pet Shop

What I did was cut all my papers to size first.  I took the sheet of stamps and randomly out the whole set(minus the hearts) on one acrylic block.

I then stamped and embossed my background paper and added the hearts back in, in 2 different embossed colors.

Then a made my phrase in PSE and printed it out and put the card altogether.

Here is the inside of the card.

I just love how whimsical this came out.

Have you tried using multiple stamps from a set to create your own unique background paper?

I will be looking carefully at all my sets to see which ones I can use this same technique with.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today!

Head on over to Gel a tins Stamps blog and see what some of the other designers are up to!  While you are there let them know Jeannie sent you!

Have a great rest of your week, this has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

An Authentique Paper Never Ending Card

13 Feb
I am excited to share a tutorial with you today. I made a card like this on my blog last week and had a lot of positive feedback, so I thought today I’d share with you how you can make your own.
I have named this card “The Never Ending Card.”
The original pattern for this came out of a book called Very Mary Stationary.
To start you will need 4 pieces of paper.
3 pieces all cut from the same paper will form the base.  The dimensions of those papers are:
4 1/2″ x 10 1/2″
1 1/4″ x 1 3/8″
1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
The other paper you will cut from Decorative Paper and the dimensions are:
4″ x 4″
Take the longest piece and from the left short edge score lines at
1) 1″
2) 1 3/8″
3) 5 7/8″
6 1/4″
Fold along the score lines and you are creating a box.  Put adhesive on the outer edge of the 1st scored section create the box shape.(see next picture)

Here is what it looks like, I like to decorate the front before assembling, I find it easiest to do it in this order.
For the tabs you will take the shorter pieces of paper and score them at these increments.
The 3 3/8 paper, score from the left at the 1 1/2″ mark and the 1 7/8″ mark.  Fold on the score lines and adhere to the card middle left.  This just acts a barrier so the inside card does not fall out.
For the 3 1/2″ paper score from the left at the 1″ mark and the 1 3/8 mark.  Fold on the lines and adhere the longer end to the inside center right.  To make the tab open or close, either use adhesive velcro or some sort of reusable adhesive.

For the card enclosure you will need on piece of paper that is 4″ x 10 3/4″.  Score this paper at the 2 1/2″ and 6 1/2″ marks.  Fold the shorter panel up to create an pocket and then fold the other score line to create the card.  Embellish as desired.
Here is the completed card front.  You can see that I used a Card Candi for my tab and underneath I used the Tack it Over and Over glue.
Here is a close up of the card front.  Don’t you love the Celebrate Papers?
Here is the card enclosure.
The card enclosure opens up to reveal a pocket inside..
…inside the pocket is a matching gift card holder.
Here is a close up of the gift card holder.  I just love the floral print on the enjoyment paper.
Here are the different pieces side by side.
Isn’t this a great card?
It really is easy to make, if you have any questions regarding how to make this..feel free to ask me.
I have been enjoying working with the Celebrate line and I hope you enjoyed my card today.
This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.
