Happy Birthday RubberMoon Arts Style

16 Jun

It’s birthday time of year and I thought I’d combine this post with a little gift I made for a certain birthday boy who celebrates a birthday this week!

This is to match something that he wants for his room, so although he has seen THIS project, he hasn’t seen what it matches.

I used my Deena Ziegler Sizzix Banner Die, which I totally LOVE by the way!!

Here are my papers all cut and ready to go.

I used the Mixed Media Splatter stamp on all the papers to start.
IMG_5414

For one of the banner pieces I used this LOVE stamp.

IMG_5416

On another piece I used the NEW MOON stamp.

IMG_5417

On the NEW MOON banner, I used this phrase.

IMG_5418

Here is how I cut out the phrase and moon to make them stand out.

IMG_5419

For another banner piece I used this Denise stamp.

IMG_5422

Here is the final project.  What do you think?

IMG_5427

I put it all together with fabric scraps.

Shopping Girl’s Dream

7 Sep
This is a little shadow box I got for $1.00 at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section because what ever was in the shadow box had been ripped off.
Knowing I would use it at some point, yep, I bought the silly thing.
I’m so lucky to have all my Cheery Lynn Designs Dies to work with. Here is what my $1.00 “purchase” turned out like.
Improvement, agree?
I took the Reflections Scalloped Circle Die, and used it as a 1/2 circle for the banners at the top.
I framed the sentiment on the bottom with Scalloped Rectangles.
All my papers are by Authentique Paper and the stamp set it called If the Shoe Fits, by Unity Stamp Co.
I think this turned out adorable and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana posting for Cheery Lynn Designs.
Be sure and check out our Challenge blog.

Celebrating America

22 Jun
It’s hard to believe that we are nearing the 4th of July, but it is just around the corner.
Right now on the challenge blog the theme is Red, White and Blue for You, so today my project is based on that theme.
I started with a canvas from Canvas Corp and used lots of Canvas Corp paper to make this adorable 4th of July altered canvas.
I took my inspiration from the Mary Engelbreit image you see on the canvas.  This was from a small desk calendar I have.  I use the calendar on a lot of different art projects.
The strip for the base I cut with the Wittle Weavers.
The swag on the white fence is called Patriotic Swag and the fence is called Victorian Picket Fence.
The small flower by the phrase is the Medium Rose.
I also used the Scalloped Rectangles and squares,
The little banner is just made from cut of squares.
So there you have it, my take on Red, White and Blue for You.
I hope you can go over to the challenge blog and play along.

Fathers Day with Cheery Lynn Designs, Canvas Corp & 7 gypsies

15 Jun
Since Father’s day is just a couple of days away, I wanted to make a special card for the man many children in my house call DAD!!
I am using lots of things from Canvas Corp and 7 Gypsies.
I used the 7 gypsies stamp sets called Numero and Ephemera.
I am so in love with these 2 stamp sets!  You will be seeing me use them a lot in the upcoming months!
The Numero set has so many fun surprises, I had a blast using that set for this card!
You can see that I took the die called Window C and used it as my focal point.  The Window not only worked as my base but also worked for me to clip the bits and pieces of embellishments to the card with the red Canvas Corp mini clothespins.
I backed the frame with the Zig Zag border and used the leftover scraps from cutting the Lace Light Deco Border.  As you can see, the leftovers work like a mini banner.
I have the banner hanging from some red waxed cotton Canvas Corp Cord.
I used the Scalloped Square set for my tags that you see hanging with the clothespins.
All of the paper you see is from Canvas Corp.  Their paper is well, do you have a lifetime so I can tell you about how much I LOVE IT???
All in all…..
I love the way this card turned out.  It is truly a one of a kind card and thanks to the supplies that I used it is also personalized with dates and phrases that will be meaningful to the recipient.
I hope you have a great weekend.  Enjoy your fathers, brothers, grandpas, sons or whomever you share your weekend with.

Wednesday Wowzer Banner

16 May
Today I am using the {ippity} set called New Season, New Wonder.
I am using these mini gift card sized bags from CANVAS CORP as my base.
I thought this would be so cute using nice bright summer colors.
Using powders from WOW EMBOSSING POWDERS was the perfect touch since I had some vibrant colored powders to choose from.
I embellished a little with some puffy stickers I had from MOMENTA.
The puffy fruit stickers were the perfect finishing touch.
These bags are the perfect size to create a banner that is not overwhelming in size.
I hope you have enjoyed this idea of mine!
Do you love banners like I do?
Now…where should I hang this?? hmmm??
This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Summer Fun Banner

11 May
Today I have such a fun project for you to try!
I love using the Reflections Dies in their full size, but they are tons of fun when you just use the halves too!
I am using the Scalloped Oval set on this banner.
I used my digital papers from Echo Park, and created lots of bright and colorful layers as my banner base.
The top tiered portion of the banner is made with the Pennant die.
On the individual banner pieces I embellished each letter with the following dies:
For the letters I used the Optimistic Font on top of layers of Scalloped Circles.
I love all the bright and cheery colors in this!
It is always fun for me to think of new ways to use supplies and I am very happy with how this turned out.
Now, moving on, have you checked out our new challenge on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog?
The Challenge this week is Shades of Purple.
I came across and adorable, simple card design and wanted to make this design to show you all.
Here is the card original.
Here is my PURPLE version of the same design.
For this card I used the following dies:
Scalloped Rectangles for the card mats, Black Eyed Susans and Wood Grain Embossing Plates.
Also I used the  Pennant die again because I love that die!
Lots of purple:)
What do you think you can come up with for our challenge?
We’d love to see you link up with us.  Remember there is a $20.00 gift certificate to the lucky winner of the challenge!
I hope you have enjoyed my post today, this has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana, have a great Friday.

“All DOLLED UP!” with Cheery Lynn Dies and WOW Embossing Powders

6 Apr
Today I am using my Cheery Lynn Dies along with some fabulous stamps and embossing powders from Wow Embossing Powders by the lovely Suzy West.
I cam across this adorable bookmark on Etsy:
I always look at things and think..ooh, I could do that even though I do not have the exact supplies the original was made out of.  With all my Cheery Lynn Designs dies, I knew I would be able to make my own version of this Japanese Kokeshi doll.  I also knew I wanted to use all of my WOW EMBOSSING GLITTERS and WOW STAMPS to accentuate the patterned papers I was going to use for the doll.
Here is my version…
My doll is much bigger than the bookmark and I have turned it into a plaque rather than a bookmark.
For the doll and clothing I used Scalloped Circle Stackers and Scalloped Oval Stackers.
I enhanced the dies and patterned paper with the Wow Embossing Powders and Stamps. You can see the sparly patterns on the dress and the background and I used one of the WOW STAMPS from the “CALL ME” for the doll’s hair.
The flower and lace embellishments are made with the dies called:  Queen Anne’s Lace, Buttons1 and the MediumMiniature Roses.
The final touch was applying the sweet sentiment attached to an individual Pennant.
I just love how this cute little doll turned out and I hope you do also.
