These are a few of my favorite things – At Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames

21 Mar

You will have to forgive me for the Christmas Papers on this project.

I made this in December for work sample.  I used the Basic Grey Attach Me Stickers through out this little album.

This stickers are pretty cool.  You can attach things in any album without having to punch holes in anything.

This little album in contained in a mini file folder, just like the ones Canvas Corp Makes.

All of the things I am hi-lighting in this post, are available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames, in Grass Valley, CA.  (that’s where I work. 😉

I’m not going to go and describe each page to you.  This is just an idea of what you can do with these Attach Me Stickers.

Joy’s Life meets Mary Engelbreit

29 Aug
Hello everyone, Jeannie from The Polka Cabana here today with a fun gift card/tag/letter etc. idea.  I hope that some of you from Close Friends on Facebook are here to visit and get an idea of what you can also do with things you might have lying around your house.  I am on a design team for a fun site called Joy’s Life.com.
All of us on the Joy’s Life DT are working with these Swatch Tag. Swatch tags are used for lots of crafters to keep track of paper and pen color samples etc.
Here is my completed project.

Here is a side view, these tags could be used as anything.

I have gathered all of mine together as a card/letter
.

I had a lot to say, so each tag is numbered on the back to keep them in order.

I used quite a few stamp sets and had fun mixing and matching the phrases to get the exact words I needed.  That is the best thing about these stamps for me.  First there are so many phrases and then if you get creative, you can make up your own by mixing, matching and splicing!

All of my images are taken from a Mary Engelbreit desk calendar.

All of my fun papers are from Canvas Corp.

A big thank you to May Arts for my wonderful ribbon.

The buttons?  Are from PaperTrey Ink.

Isn’t it great how I was able to get some sort of sentiment for each tag I made?

I am so happy to have these Joy’s Life stamps, it makes projects like this so much more fun to put together.

Here is a final peek at all of them together.
I hope you have liked my project for the day.
This has been Jeannie posting for Joy’s Life.com.
A special thank you to any and all of you who have stopped by from Close Friends!

PLUS…..over on Joy’s Life.com
we are all putting our CRI-KITS to good use this week.
I am using pens from the Reg. Neon set.
I am also using a design from my Art Philosophy cartridge with my pens.

I am using the stamp set called Pun in the Sun from Joy’s Life.

The little boat is from the Cricut Cartridge Life is a Beach.

This is the inside of the card.  I have also used dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and My Favorite Things.
Here is a close up of the area where the CRI-KITS pen was used.  It really does make a gorgeous background for this card.

Here is a close up of those fabulous Joy’s Life stamps!!

One last peek at my card for this week!

Well, what do you think?  I’d love to hear your feedback!!!
I had a ton of fun with these pens.  I am all ready to try again for our blog hop this weekend!

A card with a TREAT inside

10 Aug
Hi everyone, I’m here with my post for Joy’s Life.com.
All of us on the design team have all been focusing on how to use the different craft containers that you can find on the Product page on Joy’s Life.com.
So today I am using one of the mixed sized tubes and also some of the sentiments from Sweet Popsicle Puns.
Here is the front of the card.

A close up of the sentiment on the card front.

From the side you can see the tube filled with candy..

When you open the card you can see the surprise inside.

Doesn’t that make and extra special card?

I love using the stamps here and there.

Here is one last look at the card, the cute little girl is from one of my Mary Engelbreit calendar pages.

All of my papers are from Canvas Corp, ahhh how I love Canvas Corp papers!!!
That is my card for today!  I hope you enjoyed it.

Celebrating Mother Nature

27 Jul
Today I have a cute little canvas to share with you.
Since our theme on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog is CELEBRATION,
I decided that something involving appreciating my surroundings was what I wanted to focus on.
I’ve mentioned before how I love to save my Mary Engelbriet desk calendars for focal points on crafts and cards.
I found this in one of my calendars and it was the perfect focal point for my canvas.
I then used lots of dies and just embellished the theme around the picture.
The rainbow is made from the OVAL dies, the sunshine from the Sunflower and the frame in black around the Mary Engelbreit picture is from CUTIES 3.
What do you think?  I just love this!  It is small and just draws you is because it has so much to look at.
There there is the message!  Such a big message on such a small canvas!
I hope you have enjoyed my post today.  This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with this mini canvas, have a great weekend!

Recipe for Fun Blog Hop

14 Jul

Welcome to the Joys Life RECIPE FOR FUN BLOG HOP.

I have made 2 things to inspire you.

A Popcorn snack set.

I am using the set called Yummy Puns.

All of my paper and twine are from Canvas Corp.

This adorable little tin is from Joy’s Life.com. You can find them under the tab that says Craft Containers.

I made this on a piece of durable 12 x 12 piece of cardstock so it holds up nicely.

Aren’t these colors just perfect for a nice sleepover, get together or Foodie type party?

Fishytime Summer Fun

11 Jul
I have a fun project to share to day.
This is a little box that can easily be made up in no time at all.
We are focusing using the stamp new set from Joys Life.com called Pun in the Sun.

I am using lots of fun papers from Canvas Corp.
I used 3 different stamps from the stamp set.  Isn’t that little boat adorable?
When you pull the “drawer” open it reveals some more paper fish and some gummy sharks as a surprise.
The drawer could be used for so many different things and would even be big enough to hold small cookies, candles, soaps etc.
I love the way this turned out and think the stamps go perfectly with the fish and the bright and colorful papers.
Who wouldn’t be excited to get a small surprise like this?
I hope you have enjoyed my “idea”..this has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Quick Gift Ideas With Joy’s Life Stamps

4 Jul
Hello and Happy 4th of July everyone.
I am here to share a quick couple of gift ideas.
I am using the set called YUMMY PUNS.
This is a cute little box I found the pattern on SplitcoastStampers.
I filled the box with strawberry licorice and added the “berry best wishes” sentiment to the box.
Perfect touch.  I love having all these sentiments, it seems I have a sentiment for everything now.
My next project is this little piece of cake gift box.
Again, using a phrase from the Yummy Pun set.
This would be the perfect touch for a bridal shower, little girl party, tea party etc.
These gift boxes were quick and easy to throw together and decorate.  Using Joy’s Life stamps, I was sure to have the perfect sentiment to go along with the box!
Hopefully I’ve given you some fun ideas to try sometime soon!
Have a great holiday.  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

From Trash to Treasure

27 Jun
This might sound so cliche, but I am so excited to share what I have made today!

My daughter could not find any shorts in the stores that she likes(they were all too short) so, we bought pants and I made them into shorts.  Call me a hoarder, but I have a tough time throwing anything away.

Here are the pieces of denim I cut off the pants.

A normal person would have just chucked them in the garbage.  But, I am far from normal!
I thought it would be cool to emboss in white on the denim, I tried that first, but the white actually absorbed too much into the denim.
Here you can see I have all my supplies ready to go.  I have the denim on top of some large acrylic stamping blocks for a hard surface to stamp on.
Here you can see I stamped all the supplies wanted to use, denim, Mary Engelbreit fabric, twill tape, and organza ribbon.
Here is the final product after I put it all together on come thick chipboard and mounted it on some fabulous coordinating Canvas Corp Papers.
I am using the set called:  Let your Heart take Flight.
The lettering is much darker in person,
I just had a blast making this picture.
It’s so fun to find buttons and beads to add to projects like this.
The puffy heart pillow really adds a fun touch to this.
So there you have it, my attempt to WOW you!!
How did I do??
This has been my version of from Trash to Treasure, with Jeannie from The Polka Cabana.

Celebrating America

22 Jun
It’s hard to believe that we are nearing the 4th of July, but it is just around the corner.
Right now on the challenge blog the theme is Red, White and Blue for You, so today my project is based on that theme.
I started with a canvas from Canvas Corp and used lots of Canvas Corp paper to make this adorable 4th of July altered canvas.
I took my inspiration from the Mary Engelbreit image you see on the canvas.  This was from a small desk calendar I have.  I use the calendar on a lot of different art projects.
The strip for the base I cut with the Wittle Weavers.
The swag on the white fence is called Patriotic Swag and the fence is called Victorian Picket Fence.
The small flower by the phrase is the Medium Rose.
I also used the Scalloped Rectangles and squares,
The little banner is just made from cut of squares.
So there you have it, my take on Red, White and Blue for You.
I hope you can go over to the challenge blog and play along.
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.
