Happy Birthday RubberMoon Arts Style

16 Jun

It’s birthday time of year and I thought I’d combine this post with a little gift I made for a certain birthday boy who celebrates a birthday this week!

This is to match something that he wants for his room, so although he has seen THIS project, he hasn’t seen what it matches.

I used my Deena Ziegler Sizzix Banner Die, which I totally LOVE by the way!!

Here are my papers all cut and ready to go.

I used the Mixed Media Splatter stamp on all the papers to start.

For one of the banner pieces I used this LOVE stamp.

On another piece I used the NEW MOON stamp.

IMG_5417

On the NEW MOON banner, I used this phrase.

Here is how I cut out the phrase and moon to make them stand out.

For another banner piece I used this Denise stamp.

Here is the final project.  What do you think?

I put it all together with fabric scraps.

What do you think?  This was a ton of fun to make!  I love making banners and using stamps on them is such a great way to personalize them and make them more unique!

I hope you have enjoyed my post today.  This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana today’s RubberMoon Arts post!

Wednesday Valentine Wowzer

6 Feb
Hello Crafty Ones!
I am here to show you my I Heart Ippity project, hooray:)
I have used a lot of different stamp sets for this;)
The polka dot gift bag, I picked up over at Deena Ziegler.com.
I made a heart shrinky dink with some Grafix Arts Red Shrink Film.
Inside my gift bag is a candy filled tube of M & M’s.
Plastic tube and papers are from my workplace, Ben Franklin Crafts in Grass Valley, CA.
Now to let you know all the stamps I used, get ready….
What do you think?  Wouldn’t you love to get a Valentine like this?
I hope I have “WOW”ed you today!  Thank for stopping by and visiting.

Why is this caged bird singing?

31 Aug
Did you get my reference to the famous book?
I am still having a ton of fun with dies from the August New Release.
The new dies I have used on the card are Bird Cage, Hummingbird, Celtic Whimsy and Embellishment #2.
Dies that are not from the new release are Scalloped Rectangle’s, and Mini Fanciful Flourish.
I am so impressed with the intricate pattern of the Celtic Whimsy.  It cut easily and is such an impressive pattern.  This is easily one of my new favorites.
I also love the new Bird Cage.  What a gorgeous design.
Have you had a chance to head on over to our Challenge blog?
I just peeked and we are up to 41 entries already!  WOW, it’s not even the weekend yet.
The theme is anything goes.  Remember you do need to use a Cheery Lynn Designs dies in your project/card to qualify, but still anything goes?  What have you got to lose?
Have a great weekend!  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s Cheery Lynn Designs post.

Wednesday Wowzer Thursday!

30 Aug
Hello Everyone, It’s me Wednesday’s Child on a Thursday.  Yesterday was the new release BLOG HOP, so I am posting today instead.
I made up a pretty card to say farewell to a retiring co-worker.
I am using the set called Flowers + Friends = Priceless.
As many times as I have used this set, I never tire of it.
I couldn’t find an “I miss you” sentiment quickly enough, so I used some mini type letters.
Hopefully there is enough room for lots of people to sign their names.
My papers are from a past Deena Ziegler card kit. I love grabbing my kits when I am in a hurry.  I always use my own design but at least the guess work of the colors and paper matching is done and I get to focus on the design of the card instead!
I hope I have WOW’d you even if it is Thursday!  This has been Jeannie posting for I Heart {ippity}, have a great day!

I Love You card with Cheery Lynn Designs New Release dies

24 Aug
Hello Everyone…This is Jeannie with a beautiful card to show off some of the new release of Cherry Lynn Designs dies.
In the top left corner I have used the new Butterfly Out die.
The bird on the branch is a combination of the new Hummingbird die and Embellishment #2 set.
The delicate flower is made from the Build a Flower #2 Plate.
I’ve embellished some of the flowers and the butterfly with some i-rocks from Imaginisce, leftover from our fun joint swap with them.
My card is based on a design and products from a kit from Deena Ziegler.
I hope you have enjoyed my creation today.  I live for making these weekly creations, I really do!
Cheery Lynn Designs are magical to work with and this new release, WOW!!  That about says it all!
Have a great weekend, this has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana posting for Cheery Lynn Designs.
Be sure to stop by the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog and enter this week’s Doily Challenge for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree at the store.

Wednesday Wowzer with {ippity} stamps

18 Jul
Today I am sharing a card I whipped up very last-minute for my, I Heart {ippity}, post.
I am using a set that is called Born of my Heart.
There are lots of great phrases in this new set.  I did not use the full phrase that went with this “LOVE”.
But, that is what is so great about this set.
You can break the phrases apart and use bits and pieces or use the phrases and words “as is.”
I was able to create this card in literally no time at all since this is a card I have from one of my older kits from my delightful friend and mentor, Deena Ziegler.
I love to buy her kits and sometimes I create her cards like her diagrams say to and other times like with this one, I just kind of do my own thing!
I hope you have liked my WOWZER for today!
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Welcome Little Baby Sunshine

17 Jul
If you have been following us this week over on Joys Life Design Team, you know we are focusing one SHAPED CARDS.
My shaped card, as you can see, is a bottle.
Using the PUN IN THE SUN stamp set, I embossed the phrase “Hello Sunshine” onto the card.

I then made my own sunshine peeking from underneath the bottle rim.

The green words are just printed off the computer to match the color scheme of the card.
I just love how this all came together.  Wouldn’t this make an adorable card for a new baby?
I hope you have enjoyed  my card today..this has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.
Most of the card supplies are from an older Deena Ziegler Kit I had.

I Heart {ippity} meets Deena!

14 Sep

I have someone to thank today for helping meet my deadline to I Heart {ippity} earlier than usual!

For those of you are new, be sure to read about my FAVORITE CARD DESIGNER, Deena Ziegler.

Here is the link to my post about her.

https://polkacabana.wordpress.com/2010/11/01/this-will-be-my-favorite-post-ever-be-sure-to-read/

I have lots of card kits that I still need to make, so I grabbed a card and sort of made it my base.

I used the {ippity} set called BECAUSE OF YOU.

I love this card for so many reasons!

First of all the colors.  Did you know my favorite color in the world is red?

I also love using the applique stitch on my machine for edging cards.

Lastly, I love the POLKA DOTS!  I have said it before and I will say it again, they just make me happy.

I have to tell you these {ippity} stamps are the best.  I Heart {ippity} has fabulous prices so go on over and order yourself a set if you don’t already own any!

You will love them and that is a promise!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great Wednesday!

Authentique Paper, a family affair!

4 Sep

I am a happy, happy & proud mom today!  Why?

You all know I love my hobby and I do dedicate a lot of time to doing what I love.  It is what makes me happy, makes me feel important and I truly love what I do.

I often find myself in my craft room surrounded by children who often want to do exactly what I am doing.

At times it is annoying but at times it is truly fulfilling.

Yesterday was such a day.

I had finished my Authentique Paper sketch challenge and had thought to get my kids in on it.

My 7 yo so, bailed, he just was too stressed about the sketch, being a literal child, he though he had to use the word TITLE in his page and just could not get beyond that!

My 12 yo daughter had a tough time getting started but I help her a little in the beginning and let her know she had to do it on her own, I could not TELL her what to do.

I cut out things on the Expression that she wanted and gave her some tips on adhesives, etc. let her have free rein at MY TABLE!!

Here is the Authentique Paper Sketch for the current challenge:

Well, I am so proud to show you my daughters very 1st layout EVER based on this sketch.  Meaning this is the first page she has ever made!

What do you think?

She decided on using the BLISSFUL for her layout.

This is our dog..Tico Torres DeGruccio.  He is named after Bon Jovi’s drummer!

The thing about my 12 you making this layout…she said to me when she was working on this, “I finally get why you can do this all day!”  I asked her what she meant and she said, “This is just so much fun!”  I told her, “I love you and I am so proud of you!” then we both giggled realizing we are both paper junkies!

She had so much fun with her layout, she made this card later in the evening.

She wanted to make sure I put this online also.

This is a card from on of my Deena Ziegler kits that I hoard like a squirrel with food in the winter.

Now, I get to show you my Authentique Paper layout for the Sketch challenge.

I have used products from the line called UNCOMMON.

My younger children and I have a thing for pugs.  We adore them!

When my youngest daughter and I took my oldest daughter to Utah to drop her off at BYU, my little one got a chance to meet a cute little pug named Coco.

They instantly connected and I got some cute pictures of them

On the way home we found this adorable polka dot purse with a pug inside and of course could not say no.

The new toy pug is now of course named Coco, after the real Coco.

Thank you for visiting today.

Please get on over to the Authentique Paper blog and join our challenge!  There is a fun Paper Goodie pack from Authentique Paper that will go to one lucky winner, so now you have your incentive!  Get on over there and PLAY!!

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Once again here is the link to the challenge.
