Wednesday Wowzer Time

3 Oct
Hello and happy Wednesday.  Today I have a colorful card to WOW you with.
I am using the set called TIME FOR FRIENDS & WINE.
I am using paper from my newest FAVORITE collection from Echo Park called SWEET DAY.
See the little girl on the cloud?  I made her from some shrink film, so she is a about 50% the size of the original image.
So there you have it..my Wednesday Wowzer for you!
I hope you have enjoyed it!

Summer Fun Banner

11 May
Today I have such a fun project for you to try!
I love using the Reflections Dies in their full size, but they are tons of fun when you just use the halves too!
I am using the Scalloped Oval set on this banner.
I used my digital papers from Echo Park, and created lots of bright and colorful layers as my banner base.
The top tiered portion of the banner is made with the Pennant die.
On the individual banner pieces I embellished each letter with the following dies:
For the letters I used the Optimistic Font on top of layers of Scalloped Circles.
I love all the bright and cheery colors in this!
It is always fun for me to think of new ways to use supplies and I am very happy with how this turned out.
Now, moving on, have you checked out our new challenge on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog?
The Challenge this week is Shades of Purple.
I came across and adorable, simple card design and wanted to make this design to show you all.
Here is the card original.
Here is my PURPLE version of the same design.
For this card I used the following dies:
Scalloped Rectangles for the card mats, Black Eyed Susans and Wood Grain Embossing Plates.
Also I used the  Pennant die again because I love that die!
Lots of purple:)
What do you think you can come up with for our challenge?
We’d love to see you link up with us.  Remember there is a $20.00 gift certificate to the lucky winner of the challenge!
I hope you have enjoyed my post today, this has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana, have a great Friday.

Easter Blog Hop with Cheery Lynn Designs

15 Mar

Today we have a treat for you, our design team has been busy creating with the newly released Easter dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and we are doing a blog hop.

Visit each of the Design team members blogs and leave a comment.

One lucky person from each blog will win the Lace Egg that member used in her post.

I am using Lace Egg Three for my project today.

In addition to the chance to win the above die, if you leave a comment on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog, you will also have a chance to win the Nesting Egg dies.

For my project, I wanted to use these dies in a way to show you that even though they are Easter dies, you do not have to be limited to using them on Easter Projects only.

To start I have taken some paper towel tubes and have cut them down to just over 4 inches each.

I then covered each one with decorativve paper and used the smallest of the Scalloped Circle dies to cut out covers for the bottom only of the tubes.

They will stand up like this when finished.

Next I took the largest Nesting Egg and another Scalloped Circle and cut the shapes out like this.

I then used an assortment of dies to finish off these Babushkas.

I have used the Lace Egg Three for the sign and the apron  of each doll.

I figured these could be used for so many different occasions.

Table settings, name place cards, Mother’s Day Brunch, Baby showers just to name a few.

Each doll is decorated with paper lace and flowers from the following dies:  Pretty Petal, Lace Flourish Butterfly, Dancing Doily Lace Border, Zig Zag Ric Rac and the Stacker flowers Leaf.

Each doll holds a small treat.

I hope you liked my idea today!  Leave it to me to look for the out of ordinary way to use something, right?

Now you should go and visit each of the other team members blogs and leave a comment.

Remember:  One lucky person from each blog will win the Lace Egg that member used in her post. I used Lace Egg Three.

Also, remember, to leave a comment on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog for a chance to win the Nesting Egg dies.

Winners will be announced on the 19th along with this week’s challenge winner. Good luck and have fun hopping.

Here are the blogs that are participating in the blog hop.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy all the projects on this hop!

Fun with Cheery Lynn Designs New Easter Dies

9 Mar
We are getting ready to have our new release party soon, but thought you might like to see what is in store for you.
I am using a TON of dies today.
I am also using a sketch from Mojo Monday.
You can go and check out the EASTER NEW RELEASE dies HERE.
I have used the following NEW EASTER DIES:
Even though these are EASTER dies, look what you can make…a hot air balloon!
I used the FRENCH PASTRY DOILY & ANGEL WING to go along with our current challenge which is DOILIES.  You can read about the challenge here.
Other dies I used are:
LACE CORNER DECO F – for the leaves on my flowers on the basket.
DANCING DOILY LACE BORDER – the white paper lace.
DOTTIES RIC RAC – the lighter brown ric rac piece.
FLOWER CHAIN BORDER – flowers on the basket and on the yellow border chain with flowers.
BLACK EYED SUSANS – the embossing plate for the brown background paper.
I am pretty sure that is all the dies used.  I have used ECHO PARK’S paper called THIS & THAT, such a gorgeous line!
By now you should know that I love thinking of unusual things to do with shapes meant for other things.  The reason I do this?  I love to show you just how much you can do with dies and supplies if you just think…outside the “Easter basket!”
I hope you have enjoyed my post today..I had a ton of fun making this!
Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by.
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

I Heart {ippity} Wednesday Wowzer

7 Mar

I am still making my way through my NEW stamps from I Heart {ippity}.

I have so much fun working with these stamps!  It is never a chore and they are such crisp and clean images to use!

Today I am using the itty bitty set called:

BIRTHDAY GIRL

Here is my card.  Oh GOODNESS I love it!

Here is the inside of the card.

 Here is a side view.

I am using papers from the Echo Park THIS AND THAT GRACEFUL line.

While writing this post and looking at this card it made me question my creative abilities.  I mean I love this card, it’s GORGEOUS, but then I part of me thought, it’s the paper,   it’s the stamps, not me!  Certain stamps, like {ippity}, and paper companies just have such gorgeous images and lines, is it possible to make something unappealing with them?

That is my wonder, question thought for the week!

What do you think?

I will be linking this up to the Hippity with Ippity Sketch challenge.

You can find the sketch HERE:

Since they are using a Split Coast Stampers Sketch, I will post in my gallery there too!

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=231422

If you post to Split Coast Stampers, be sure to put the “SC349” in your keywords.

I have been going through the I Heart {ippity} blog today and WOW, we have such an AMAZING team!

I promise you if you head on over there, you will see that our team,

wow, we can make good stuff!

Now head on over to I Heart {ippity} to see what I am talking about!

Have a great Wednesday:)

Hello ECHO PARK? Are you there??

25 May

Today I am going to take a stab at posting some things for ECHO PARK to look at for their FRESH FACES MONTHLY DESIGNER call.

I am going to share 3 projects I have made recently using some of my ECHO PARK stash.

Let me start with these 2 cards.  They look the same, but you can see they are different.  I wanted them to match but not be EXACT.

I just love how the TABLE CLOTH paper from the FOR THE RECORD line looks against the solid blue of this card.

Lots of fun flowers and trim make this a whimsical and fun card.

Next you will see here a lot of the elements are the same.

I did use different trim and the pattern on the main card is different as is the image in the focal point.

Next I have a fun card that I really am proud of.  I took inspiration from a sneak peak of the SPLASH line, delivered to my email.

It was a picture of the paper called BIG STRIPES.

What I did was to take my CHEERY LYNN DESIGNS HEART CHAIN BORDER and cut border stripes out in the same color.

I then applied them to the base of my card.

Can you see starting at the very top border that I am following the same color pattern?

I then handmade some flowers with some scraps.

I then added a bow that a dear friend made for me.  Thank you Bree.

Lastly I added lots of clear dew drops to make add lots of sparkle.

BONUS PROJECT

I had to show this one too because it would not be the same with out the red and white POLKA DOT side of the TABLE CLOTH paper from the FOR THE RECORD line.

All the polka dot paper on this layout is by ECHO PARK and is from the FOR THE RECORD line.

The polka dot prints in the FOR THE RECORD line are timeless.  I seem to grab that paper pack for everything.

I have also used some of the ECHO PARK FOR THE RECORD ELEMENT STICKERS on the photographs of this layout.

My Cheery Lynn Designs Dies and Echo Park Paper, what a match made in heaven:)

Now you all know I love polka dots, more than just about anything, right?

Have you seen this new line of paper from ECHO PARK?

I could have fainted when I saw this.  I soooooooooooooo very much want some of this paper!

It also comes in this color pack.

I think I want some of each of this pack too!

Now can you see why I’d love to be a FRESH FACE for ECHO PARK?

Wish me luck, I know I am one of MANY!!

Have a great day everybody:)

tata for now!
