Authentique Paper March Sketch Challenge

3 Mar

It is that time again. What time?  Time to get on over to Authentique Paper’s blog and check out or sketch challenges and join us.

Why? Because they are fabulous sketches and you have the chance to win a paper pack from Authentique Paper?

Do you need any other reasons?  I thought not!

Here is the sketch I followed.

Here is what I came up with.

I had a blast with this sketch.  What do you think of those ONSIES?

They are courtesy of Jessica Weible Illustrations.

They are a digital stamp called String of Onsies.

Digital stamps are so much fun to work with.

I thought the onsies looked adorable in different papers from Free Bird, Blush & Delight collection.

I hope you have time to head on over to Authentique Paper’s blog and see what the other, wonderfully talented, design team members have come up with.

Be sure and join us on this challenge, you can’t go wrong, the sketches are really awesome designs!

Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

Some ADORABLE DIGI stuff!!

28 Mar

I have not had much time to play around with Digital stuff.  Now that I did these 2 layouts, I remember that I miss it!!

If you are here for the PAPER ISSUES BLOG HOP, Click HERE.

These are done with the kit called COLORFUL EASTER by Tatiana Pittigliani.

You can find her blog here:

http://pittiscrap.blogspot.com/

The best thing about her designs?

COLOR and WHIMSY!

She has a ton of both.

Here is a snapshot of the new COLORFUL EASTER kit.

Here are the 2 layouts I have done with the kit.

I purposely chose to not do Easter themed pictures.  I think it is important to show the versatility of a kit.

Obviously you could do a great Easter layout, I mean look at all those fun elements.

But, I did 2 layouts that had nothing to do with Easter and the kit was still great fun.

I hope you liked that kit as much as I do!

Head on over to http://pittiscrap.blogspot.com/ to see the other Design Team creations!

Have a great Thursday!!

Cheery Lynn, Goodbye Tiffany, Hello Tally!

18 Feb
Ladies and any Gentleman out there.

I have so MANY things to share with you today!
I know you all are needing to have some Veggies, so let me share a couple of cards with you today.
First, here is our favorite duo, Bob and Larry.
What I love about the VEGGIE TALES dies, is the detail each character has.
Look at Larry’s teeth and Bob’s stem. These fine details, really set these dies apart from others.

Here is a fun way to use PA GRAPE. Can’t you just hear him sayin‘ “Who are ya callin‘ old?”

Over the next couple of weeks, I will share cards from a 6 card set I have made with the Veggie Tales characters.

I challenged myself to make a whole set and have them all coordinate with each other. To do this, I precut many pieces of paper all from the same print, gathered all my supplies and went to work. This is a great way to get a lot of cards done at one sitting.

OH!  That reminds me, did you notice I am the Cheery Lynn Friday girl?

Also next Friday, I have a special treat for you.

I have this project DONE, but “conditions” have not been right for the photo shoot. But, how about a mini teaser? OK! Great idea…

Here is a snippet!

HMMM, what can that be?

But you’ll have to come back next Friday for the real thing.

Moving on…Here is a card I did this week.  I did this for Tally Scrapper.  I used all Cheery Lynn Dies on this card.

You will be seeing a lot of things I am doing on TALLY SCRAPPER, since I have joined up on the SURVIVOR CHALLENGE on the site.

I know that you are seeing Cheery Lynn Designs doilies a lot lately and I’m sure you all have thought about using our doilies for misting sprays and stuff, right?

Ok, good, glad we are all on the same page there.

This card I have used the ORIENTAL BUTTERFLY DOILY as a mask for some Tattered Angles misting spray.

What I did for this card was to make my butterfly base with the ORIENTAL BUTTERFLY DOILY, using it as a mask for the spray.

Then I coated the butterflies heavily with the mist for this patina look.

For my card base, I used the same mist with the ITALIAN FLOURISH DOILY.

In this picture you can see where the Doilies have left a nice negative space design.

I embellished this with some of the DIMENSIONAL BUTTERFLIES, in the same color.

What a post, right?  Are you up for one more card??  Today on TIFFANY DOODLES the Bird Digis are up for sale.
Here is a peak at all of them.

Aren’t they all just so cute?  I opted to make a card with the Tufted Titmouse
This is my last project with TIFFANY DOODLES.
I have had a ton of fun with the TEAM.  I need to scale back on my TEAMS, to devote more time to ones that require more of my time.

I will miss all the DOODLE GIRLS!!!

Goodness, I just love this card.  I mean this Digi stamp!

Thanks for hanging in there with me today!  I hope you have enjoyed all my fun things today.
For now, this is Jeannie from the Polka Cabana saying Thank Goodness It’s Friday!

Tiffany Doodles New Images…..

16 Feb

Spring is trying it’s best to get here.  Tiffany has made some of the most adorable bird stamps.  You do not have to be a bird lover or watcher to enjoy these furry little ones.  All week we can give SNEAK PEAKS.  Yesterday the  Bluebird family debuted.

Today the Warbler & Cherry Blossom struts her stuff.

That’s all I can show for now.  I have another 2 to show you, one tomorrow(Thursday) and one on Friday.

I made a wonderful card to share on Friday bundle of feathers!  Please stop by to see the sneak peaks and come back again Friday to see my creation:)

All the Images will be avail for purchase on Friday, Feb. 18th 2011 at TIFFANY DOOLES.COM.

If that weren’t enough, she has got a sale going on too!!  Great time to pick up some Digi’s for that Library you are creating!!

Go out, enjoy what ever weather you are having and MAKE a great day!

Are you ready for a Tiffany Doodles Challenge?

7 Feb

Late post here.  Sorry, I have been at WORK all morning.    There is a new Tiffany Doodles challenge for you starting today and there are a few changes to note.  First, the challenge will last for two weeks.  Second, we want to encourage you to use your Tiffany Doodles images — a $10 voucher for the Tiffany Doodles store is up for grabs for a project using a Tiffany Doodles image.

An additional $5 voucher is up for grabs for any other entries (TD image or non-TD image).

So our challenge to you is to create a Valentine’s or love themed project.  Tiffany has some fabulous digis in the store that will work perfectly for this.  For my post today, I have made 3 different cards with the same stamp.  I use the digi stamp called STAINED GLASS HEART.

Here is my 1st card:

This was a joint collaboration with my 12 year old daughter.  I told her to color it in any color scheme she wanted.  After she colored the base, I added the glitters and the lacquers.  I think it turned out GREAT!!

Card #2 is just a “TOTALLY ME” card.  I love everything about it.  I used my new dies called Wittle Weavers from Cheery Lynn Designs, to create the base of this card.

There are actually so many steps to making this card, I will not bore you with all the detail.  You can just look and enjoy it and know that I did indeed put A LOT of work into it!

Since I called my last card a ” TOTALLY ME” card, I guess I need to call this next one the “TOTALLY MINE!” card.

A lot of us on the Tiffany Doodles team think Mr. Bon Jovi is great eye candy, so this card is for ALL OF US!!

I hope you have enjoyed my Valentine’s today!

Make sure you check out the other fabulous DT creations.

Also, go by the Tiffany Doodles blog to read all the guidelines and extra info on the February Challenges.

HAVE A NICE DAY!!

It’s a Blue Tuesday

1 Feb
Now, that is not meant to be a depressing title.  My projects today are a a combined effort for Cheery Lynn Designs and Paper Faces Designs by Therese Travis.   I figured since they both offer things that are not of the same category, there is no “conflict of interest” going on here.
Christina of CG SAYS SOMETHING LOUDLY, came up with our Challenge theme I have followed. A one word theme: BLUE.

POLKA CABANA NOTE:
I am dedicating this post to some friends I have made on a different website called, Theme Worx.  I won’t name them by name, since I have not asked persmission.
When I was given the BLUE challenge and made my card, I looked at here and wanted to name her INDIGO.  I have learned a whole new world is attached to this color, that I never knew existed.  If you have not heard this color used in reagards to personalities of people, it is a very facsinationg subject.  So my card, which is I now refer to as INDIGO, is dedicated to those 2 special people that have shared some very personal and wonderful information with me.

This actually turned into quite a challenge. I used nothing but the one Therese Travis Digi Stamp and then nothing else but Cheery Lynn Designs products.  Challenging, yes, but fun too!

The way I made my project interesting, without being boring, is with all the different patterned papers in the BLUE scheme.

Here is Angel Meggie, all decked out with the help of Cherry Lynn Designs dies and other fun stuff.

Here is a close up of the banner above Meggie’s head. Can you see those tiny bows, and what, are those glass beads hand sewn to those PRETTY PETAL flowers?

Why yes they are.

I admit, I went a little overboard on this card, and I loved every minute of it!

Here is a close-up of the banner, cut from the PENNANT DIE.

I just kept the inside, fairly simple. The phrase reads, “Friend: One who knows all about you and loves you just the same.” Such a true statement.

In the corner are a trio of PRETTY PETAL flowers.

Here’s a close-up so you can see their dimension and detail.

On this last picture, before you navigate away from us, look closely at the background papers. I cut the scalloped rectangle using the dies with the same name, SCALLOPED RECTANGLE. Look even more closely, the paper that in under the SCALLOPED RECTANGLE piece, has been pierced with the new PIERCE PLATE. I am having a blast with those and the stitching plates. They make a fabulous look and texture on plain, hum drum cardstock. Lastly, the base of my card(white), is embossed with the BANDANA embossing plate.

I could have stopped here, but why?  Christine had mentioned these cards called Waterfall Cards.  I showed one the other day that I made for Tiffany Doodles new flower stamp releases.  You can see that card here, and compare the two cards.

Bear with me as I share many pictures, I am doing this so you can get an idea of how the WATERFALL CARD works.  With this card, I have again used one of Therese’s stamps.  But it is only the Flowers from here Heart Wreath.

The WATERFALL card has 4 different images.

As you pull the ribbon, each image is revealed, one at a time.

After one image is shown and the ribbon is pulled, the previous images cascades and falls behind the image you just viewed.

Here is the last of the 4 images, the others are all tucked neatly behind the last image.

Here is a side view, as the Waterfall begins.

With such a complex fron, I just left my inside plain.  I did make a tiny little flower and thought it would be neat to incorporate Thereses store name in the flower.

One last view of this wondrful card.

That is has been my BLUE TUESDAY for you. Thanks for visiting The Polka Cabana today.
I know that all of us on the PAPERFACES Design Team are revealing a challenge.  I do not have the specifics, but, as soon as I get them I will add them to this blog post.
The Cheery Lynn Designs products used in my cards today are as follows. All products have the link embedded in their product names.

Come back again, pretty please???

It’s all about the Veggies!

25 Jan

Ok, you crafty types out there.  What do I have to do to convert you all to loving my friends as much I do?  Which friends you ask?  You know, Bob, Larry, Jimmy, Jerry?  The VEGGIE TALES?  Well, I have such exciting things to share about my little veggie friends.   Cheery Lynne Designs have given the Veggies, their own place to shine.  You will be able to check in with them, and me, weekly to see what mischief we have gotten into.  Please go and visit THE PRODUCE AISLE over on Cheery Lynn Designs.

I will still be with the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and will continue to have new things, there, to entice with all of the Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  THE PRODUCE AISLE will be for the VEGGIES only and anyone they care to include:)

This week, I have a lot to share with you, so grab a V-8 and keep scrolling.  The owners of Cheery Lynn Designs wanted to have some of the Veggie Tale characters to ship to the BIG IDEA studiosBIG IDEAs, do you know who they are?  They are the creators, the geniuses behind VEGGIE TALES.

Ok,  back to my story, it kind of goes like this:

Cheery Lynn Boss A to Boss B = Let’s send some of the Veggie Tale Characters to BIG IDEAs and they can assemble them to see what they look like

Cheery Lynn Boss B = Oh?

Cheery Lynn Boss A to Boss B = Maybe you could assemble them and mail them off to BIG IDEAs?

Cheery Lynn Boss B = ***Snickers***

Cheery Lynn Boss B to Boss A = How about I ask Jeannie, if she could make some cards or something to send their way?

There you have it, the reason behind today’s and some upcoming creations I have done.  The second I was asked to do something for BIG IDEAs, I knew I wanted to do a family portrait.  I had quite the problem, getting all these guys to cooperate for the picture, but finally we got some good shots!  (Kidding, this is a paper pieced Family Picture)

On this picture, that measures 11 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches tall, I used ALL of the Veggie Tale Dies.  You can view the whole gang(dies) here.  I also used, Picket Fence, Mountains Border, Scallop Circle and some new plates that are called Stitching Plates.  I had so much fun making this.

I can see this framed and hanging in a baby’s room, a daycare, a church nursery a newlywed gift that says “{insert last name} EST {insert year}.”  I can see something like this used for many different occasions.  They are cute, colorful and HAPPY!!  Here are some more pictures.

Right side of portrait:

A little closer up to see the detail.

I love using rhinestones on my projects and my favorite supplier is: Rhinestone Hue’s on Etsy.  She got my addicted to rhinestuds, which she mostly sells on EBAY.  On this portrait I have used BOTH the studs and the stones.

Her Etsy store: http://www.rhinestonehues.etsy.com
Her Ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Rhinestone-Hues

Before putting this portrait together, the Veggies had a photo shoot individually.

Not pictured are Archilbald Asparagus and Jr. Asparagus.  They must have been out helping LARRY BOY or something!

After I got them all individually pictured, I decided to do some magic with them.  By extracting them from their white background, I was able to turn them into .png files. Now I can use them digitally.  Here are my examples.  This first example  is my .ning page header.  Again, the Asparagus’s are missing..oops!  I used 2 digital kits by STUDIO FLERGS on this banner.

Last, is my new profile picture for some different sites I am on and THE PRODUCE AISLE.

So, there you have it!  My long-winded post.  After playing with these guys, digitally, it sure does get my brain thinking of the many possibilities with my paper creations.  You know that ALLADIN song “A WHOLE NEW WORLD”?  That is what I am thinking.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please visit us in THE PRODUCE AISLE often, we will continue to make you smile!
