Hello blogging world, today I am sharing my first project here for the fantastically yummy embossing powders by WOW.
I created a fairly simple layout so that the colors of the powders would really stand out.
I started with a picture that I manipulated in PSE.  I wanted the picture and my title to be the background paper.  Here is what I started with.
Yep, that’s me..goofy I know but it is what I wanted!!
I had the image of what I wanted to do in my head, and here is what I dreamed up!
When I look at this layout, I am just giddy.
I used the Wow Beautiful Clear Stamp set called GRATITUDE.
All the embossing powders I used are from the CANDY COUNTER COLLECTION–Berrylicious, Whirly Pop, Sour Lemon, Gummy Bear Green, Bubble Gum & Cotton Candy.

This is for a book I have decided to do about me.
We all have things that are unique, things that make us who we are.
I am a Sunday School teacher for teenagers and this past Sunday I was talking about the importance of journaling.  I had this MOMENT while planning my lesson that I wanted to do a book about the nuances that make me who I am.  I told my class about this and told them that journaling can be really fun.
I told them it was my promise I would start myself and that I would create something and bring it to church the following Sunday.
Now that I have my first page I can’t wait to do others.
The WOW embossing powders will come in very handy during this process!
Sorry, for my ramble…I just thought I’d let you know what my page was all about!
Thanks for the visit and I hope you get a chance to play around with these fun powders!

Trio of Cards with Cheery Lynn Designs

8 Jul
Every once in awhile I do my projects for a blog post and I want to explode with excitement because I am so happy with how my things turned out!
This is one of those times.
I was challenged to use dies I have not used in awhile..well I decided to use a die I have never used before! The die is called: FISH.
Here is phase 1 of my card: I could have stopped here, what do you think?

Initially I was going to have fish strung across the front, but it covered up the beautiful abstract background I had just made.

So I settled for enhancing and complimenting the background instead.

Using wire and glass beads, I kept with the ROYGBIV color scheme and created this mini masterpiece.

I just love how this turned out!

I had all these ideas for this simple die, so I kept going.

I have a blast looking up different quotes for cards I have in mind.

This one I came upon quite by accident. I was having my 16yo help look up fish quotes and I did not like any he was finding, so I told him never mind and let him know he was “Off the hook,” and well I laughed out loud, because I thought hey..I can make a card with that!

Remember on my 1st card I said I had the idea to string the fish along the front?

Well, this is what I meant. See how they would have covered the whole background of the 1st card?

This would be a fun card to make for a friend having a bad day.

Nice bright colors to cheer someone up and this is what the inside says:

Amazingly, I only used a couple of dies with these cards. The FISH die is a fun die as it has that outline that can stand alone. There are many other dies like this. To see them all, here is the link, they are called LAYERING CHARMS:
I hope I was able to show you how fun this simple die can be, go and check out the other shapes in this family of dies.

Now we will switch gears and move on to my Cheery Lynn Design project!

I think it is great fun to dedicate posts to people who have inspired me.  So, todays post is dedicated to CASSIE BOX.  She has inspired me for today’s project.  I have to say she is the BANNER MASTER.
This is my CHEERY LYNN version of what she does best!  Actually she does it ALL best!!
I have wanted to make one of these for a while.  Have you seen a ROUND one of these somewhere?   I haven’t and thought it’d be great to try.
I love the way it has turned out.
My LOVE banner.

Here is a close up of each letter. I used some large letters I had and on each letter I used the OPTIMISTIC font dies to spell LOVE.

The heart buttons are from the BUTTONS5 set. The ladybugs are from LADY BUG FRAME.

The backgrounds and base are made up of the CIRCLE – SCALLOPED STACKERS

Let me pause a moment to say here, that the ITALIAN FLOURISH DOILY, just might be the best die in the world.  I am so in love with this doily die!

My flowers are my own made up version of the roly poly’s you see everywhere. But you have not seen those roly poly’s paired with these beautiful leaves from the DIMENSIONAL LARGE LEAVES #1 collection.

There you have it! My Valentine’s Day banner!

Hopefully I have inspired you!  There is still plenty of time to create things for Valentines.  Get your dies, paper and glue out and make something fabulous!

This has been your Cheery Lynn designer JEANNIE, hope you all make yourselves a great day!

Cheery Lynn Designs used in today’s Sweet Stamps project are:  DOTTED SWISS and FRENCH PASTRY DOILY.

How to make NEW, altered!

15 Nov

Last month was my birthday.  I got a lovely gift from my Visiting Teacher…that MIGHT have been my only gift that day?  I can’t remember. (Not talking about all my CYBER wishes!!)   Hey my birthday is still going…I just got ANOTHER FAB gift from a dear friend (who also does my hair..)  She gave me the best combo of hair stuff!..So by no means, am I complaining…anyhow..before I get myself in trouble…let me just say, part of my gift from my VT was some really cute little candles.

I could have left them alone…but I added some wow, and now I want them out in the open all the time!!

I did these for a challenge posted on

Here is my 1st BEFORE candle:

Here are my AFTER alteration process.

Here is my 2nd candle BEFORE:

Here is the AFTER alteration!

You will have to forgive me for so many pictures of the last candle.  I used a lot of sentimental stuff on it.  The beaded cherries were a bracelet that my oldest son made.  There was some irregularity in it and he did not want it, so he made me another one.  I told him NOOOO, don’t throw it away…and now it is part of my candle holder.  The other sentimental item is the dangling heart charm.  That was a little necklace that my 6-year-old made in ITCHY ribbon that I could not bear to wear, so now it is part of my necklace.  So, what do you think?  What do you have lying around that you could alter?  Christmas is coming, what can you re purpose, redo and give to some one to re-love?  Think about it!

ROYGBIV, I love you!!

6 Aug

I have to tell you, seeing the colors of the rainbow all lined up, makes me giddy.  I mean I feel a surge of happiness just looking at something based on the simple colors of a rainbow.  I entered a swap for some ATC cards.  I needed to create the cards based something that is ME!  I have NEVER done these I just made mine like a mini card.  I found a wonderful phrase to go with my design and of course, I added some POLKA DOTS and voilà, here is my finished project!

I found this wonderful product on ETSY.  I think the commercial name for them is DEW DROPS.  They make any project sparkle and add a little pizzaz.  I have tried to take a close up so you can see them.

You can really see the 3D effect on this one.  Such a happy project!

Can you believe I made 20 of those?  They were A LOT of work.  All the scraps are sewn first, then I sewed all the flower/button accessories, added sparkle, dew drops and polka dots!!  Lots of love in these.  I really enjoyed making them!

In the next few days I can reveal my PK GLITZ design team projects, I have to wait for them to post them, then I can show you!!  I also have to show you another finished project, the one I was calling the “MANTEL PROJECT”  It is soon!!  Let me know how you like the ATC’s!!!!
