My Time Made Easy, Day 3

5 Jan

Today marks my 3rd and final day with My Time Made Easy.   I have really enjoyed my time as the January Guest Designer.  I have made some new friends and will miss my short stint with them.

Today’s assignment was to use a things that were from their existing supplies.  I have used the following :  In Suspense Template, Ga Ga for Gingham Paper, Fun Flowers Paper and On Display Digital Stamp Set.

I just love how bright and cheery this looks.  I had the hardest time getting ALL of my kids to leave this alone.  I think it is safe to assume that this would be a welcome addition to anyone you give something like this to.  The circle is there so you can hang it on a door knob, but the pattern also shows you where to alter it to turn it into a stand alone box.

Keep in mind this is supposed to be a box that SUSPENDS from a door knob.  For my picture, I am not about to put this on any door knob in my home.

Think 7 kids!!

Photoshop can only do so much and creating a nice backdrop from my DOORS, yeah right!!

Well, that was FUN!  Now let’s see how long I can keep those gum balls safe!  If you have a personal cutting machine, treat yourself and head over to MY TIME MADE EASY and try something.  If you don’t have a cutting machine, NO PROBLEM.  The templates all come in .pdf so yu can print and cut them your self!!

I am so happy with every single product I have used of theirs.  I should say that their Acrylic stamps are just about the BEST I have ever used.  They are cut wonderfully and beautifully detailed.  I could go on and on, just trust me, My Time Made Easy is the cream of the crop!

Thank you MTME for having me as a guest.  This guest spot will go down in history with me, being the most fun and the most challenging thanks to numerous computer setbacks.  At least I got everything done!  I have just had a blast!  Ok..that is it…It is bedtime and I have to iron the hubby’s shirt.  Bye again and thanks for visiting me 🙂

My Time Made Easy, Take 2

3 Jan

This is a quick post to showcase some more wonderful things for MY TIME MADE EASY.  I mainly wanted to showcase a couple of their paper lines and templates.

Fun Flowers

Gag Ga for Gingham

So Fortunate – Template

Rambling Rose – Cut File

I made these items VERY late into the night.  Thanks to major computer problems I have been having, I was only able to get these done.  I wanted to showcase the So fortunate template.  I made this project and have pictured it compared to the FULL SIZE take-out box I did on Saturday.  This template is so easy to use.  The box is ADORABLE as a mini.  I had so much fun with this, I might just have to use this template scaled down for Valentines for my kids.  How cute would that me to have a mini take-out box for Valentines Day at school.  I might just do it.  It is late, I would love to focus in on each picture, but my beddy bye is calling my and I think I might listen!

Last note:  The salmon colored flower is the RAMBLING ROSE cut file.  I have to keep playing around with this file.  I will master this flower and WOW you all another day.  For now, this is one tired cookie, signing off.  I hope you enjoyed this mini project I have made.

One picture, SO MANY OPTIONS!!

Another of my top 10 people who have inspired me and has had a great impact on me is Therese Travis.  Therese’s Design Team for PAPER FACES DESIGNS, was the very 1st team I wan invited(or allowed) to be on.  I am proud to say I am still with her and she will have a hard time getting rid of me:)

The other day, I shared with you the tutorial of how to create a card with a Digital stamp and Digital Papers.  Todays techniques have some same steps, but are different in many ways.  To view the tutorial on Digital Stamps with Digital Papers you can click here to view the post.

Today, I am using Therse’s Angel Miriam.  You can purchase Miriam for your own personal use here.  I will show you how to use a .svg file and also how to use Miriam as a DIGI STAMP for 3 beautiful cards.

For my.svg card, I am using a version that Therese created for me so that I can cut it out on my Cricut.

You will start with your file opened up in your cutting software.

Please note, I have warped the pattern to hopefully protect Therese’s image. 🙂  The image will open up all grouped together.

My next step is to discard what I won’t use.  Or to be safe HIDE what you do not need and at this point, I group them on my mat how I want them to cut.

I am pretty picky about trying to save paper.  So I go with the minimum of paper I can go with to cut my files.  You can see on the next image, I have divided the pieces up into what color I will cut them out on.

Next I measure my colored paper out to fit the image on my template and adhere the paper to the cutting mat. That is the next image you are seeing.

Next you will see my pieces are cut and ready to go!  Yes, I warped the picture again:)

Jeannie tip here…When working with certain files, such as Therese’s Fairies, angels, or anything with faces or cirles etc, as I am removing them from the cutting mat, I turn them over and put a small dot on the TOP so I know which is the top and the bottom.  Might sound silly, but it has really helped in my assembling process.

I have gathered all the supplies to complete this card.  In one place..it helps the picture taking process tremendously!!

It is always important to add some depth to you pieces by sponging them with a neutral color.

My next step is to emboss my background and assemble my word art on cardstock.  I sponge these with a dark color and edge with a gold stamp pad.

Here is Miriam all assembled and ready for her card.

Time for the bow.  I use an empty cup and tie a knot on the cup.

I then cut the ribbon on the opposite side of where I just tied my nice knot.

At this point I have a for tailed ribbon, take the ends that you cut and adhere them around an attach behind your card with tape.

At this point, I forgot I needed to mat Miriam with white paper, so find a scrap and “bubble cut” around her.

Next, put dimensional adhesive on the back of Miriam and the word art.

Assemble the rest of the items and that is how I use an .svg file.

Here is a comparison with a card that I did with the DIGI stamp and colored cardstock.  I love the way it looks..but with the .svg file, the CRICUT does the cutting, with the DIGI, I do the cutting.

I also tried a different techiique I can show you later if anyone is intrested.  It uses the DIGI stamp also.  Here is the final product.

Here are the TRIO.  Which do you like best?

TOO MANY IDEAS Design Team Project #2

15 Jul

I first came across Therese Travis on ETSY.COM.  I loved her FAIRY cut files.  She is a great designer and I loved the Fairy I had purchased from her.  I wrote her and gave her a suggestion for a certain type of Fairy, and do you know she made one based on my idea and her FAIRY, looked just like me, even though we had never met and at that point she had never even seen a picture of me.  She named the Fairy JEANNIE and you can see her in THERES’S ETSY store, HERE!

I felt like a celebrity when she sent me her final product.  So, for this challenge, I have used “JEANNIE” to create my scrapbook page about one small part of me.  I am very COMPLEX, so this is just a SAMPLE!!

Here is the page.

Bubble Page

The Text Reads:

“I have often thought of my life and all of the things I need to do with this analogy.

I feel like all the things I need to do and all the things I want to do are bubbles.  You know how when you blow bubbles from a bubble wand and hundreds of bubbles float around?  No two are fully connected and they all float in a different direction.

Well that is how I feel!

I am trapped in one of the bubbles, and all the things I need and want to do are in their own bubbles and I can’t get to any of them.  I am trapped in my own bubble and can only look, but not REACH or CONNECT, at the things that I want or need to get done.

It is a very helpless feeling.”

I am trying to show the details and layers in this picture.  Can you see them?

Best of all, here is “JEANNIE”, or should I say “ME”!!  Such a great file to work with!  Thanks Therese!

As usual, I would love to hear your comments, so let me know what you think!!

A very difficult Design Team Entry! BEWARE!

13 Jul

I am submitting yet, ANOTHER, entry for a Design Team.  This one is for an AMAZING blog called Dirty Scraps.  Now, before you go getting all up in a tizzy, this means DIRT, like LIFE’S NITTY GRITTIES.  Not dirty like YUCK/VILE!

Here was the Challenge:

“Challenge #13 (Lucky 13 LOL)

Love/Hate
Most people have a love hate relationship with their body, there are parts they LOVE and parts they HATE or both!
Maybe your toes are sweet as cherry pie, or your hair is less than model-rific?
Choose a topic and scrap your love/hate relationship. You will be surprised at how many others feel the same way or struggle with body/self esteem issues.”

You need to go visit the blog to see some of the Design Team pages already up and posted.  Here is my take on the challenge.  WARNING, not for the FAINT of HEART!

Well…what do you think?

Scrapbook Page for Pratical Scrappers: My 2nd Design Team Entry!

5 Jul

OK, this is really right on the wire. I wanted to enter 2 projects for the open DESIGN TEAM CALL for PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS. Here is my 2nd. Entries needed to be done by the 5th, and I MADE IT.

I needed to create my own page from their sketch. Here is their sketch:

Here is my interpretation of their sketch:

One final look! I would love to have your opinion!

Practical Scrappers: Another Design Team ENTRY for me!

3 Jul

This card I am entering in the Practical Scrappers open call for a Design Team member. I have to submit one project today and then I need to get a Scrapbook page done by Monday and get that submitted too. I only need to enter one of their challenges, but I want to do two, maybe to DOUBLE my chances? Who knows! Any how the challenges was to show how I used a BORDER PUNCH in a project.

The BORDER PUNCH I have used is Martha Stewart’s SCALLOP WITH 2 DOTS EDGE PUNCH. I have used it all over. I have layered my Dress cutout with it. I have layered my background with it and I have used it on the card edge. I have also used a Stampin’ Up! SCALLOP border also.

What makes this card different is that I have used the holes in the punch to weave strips of paper in and out of to create a very nice effect. Can you see it?

Let me know how you like the card and hey if I get enough responses, I will randomly pick a winner to send this card to for your use! Good Luck and please leave your comments!

Happy 4th, Bless our Country and our Servicemen who protect our freedom!!

Here is an even closer up!

My Theresa project

21 Jun

I have a side job. (I know, big surprise)  I work at a local gym, doing all the management and billing, fun stuff like that.  One of our personal trainers needed some GENERIC cards that she could use when needing to send a card to client for different occasions.  Such as, encouragement, thank – you, etc.  The bathing suit card is made on my Cricut.  I used an SVG file I purchased from TOMIANNIE on ETSY:    http://www.etsy.com/shop/tomiannie Here is a set of cards I came up with.  I am still waiting to hear how she like them!  ~ Jeannie

One card from the set.

My very first Design Team Challenge

18 Jun

One of my new best friends makes the most adorable SVG files and has a store on ETSY called Paper Faces Designs.  You can find her blog at http://theresetravis.net/ I have been honored to be part of her all brand new start-up DESIGN TEAM and I am GIDDY.  This is my project using one of her designs.  The file is called “CHLOE” in her ETSY shop.  If you have a CRICUT and a little girl, you have to visit her blog and  ETSY store.

My project will be one of a total of 7 you will see over time.  I want to keep this short so I will not explain what my project will all entail, but my project I am posting here is Phase 1 of 7 phases (think kids).  I hope you enjoy.  Please leave me some feedback and critique the project, ok?
