Wow Embossing TEAM POST – The GLITTER GIRLS!!

7 Apr

With my fun job over at WOW EMBOSSING POWDERS…we all have teams that we are on.

My team is called THE GLITTER GIRLS and today is out team post to WOW you.

For this layout, I used stamps from the two sets called, Is it a bird? and Call Me.

I also used three different powders: Earthtone Olive, Earthtone Blueberry and Primary Bark.

These colors matched perfectly with Authentique Papers I used.  Since I took these pictures right before I headed up to the Authentique Paper offices, it is kind of nostalgic that I used their papers.

I used the large stamp from CALL ME to add to the overall background of my base papers and for the papers I mounted my pictures with.

For my journaling card I used one of the trees from the IS IT A BIRD? set.

Also for the journaling card I used my embossing pad to adhere the embossing powder to the edge.

I hope you liked this layout!  I was so shocked at the shear innocence and beauty I caught in this picture of my daughter with the eleven-foot marble Christus statue.
The original was sculpted by the Danish sculptor Thorvaldsen.  You can read more about the statues history here.
I do have to share another of the pictures I took that day.  I could have used this one also, but the layout would have had a completely different feel.
Here is the picture I am talking about.
What do you think here thoughts are in the above picture??
Anyhow, I love the picture above just as much, again is shows the pure magic and innocence of a child.
Now, I would love for you to head on over to the WOW EMBOSSING POWDER BLOG and see what the other glitter girls have made.
They are all so talented, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Have a great weekend all you lovely people:)
Ta ta for now!

“All DOLLED UP!” with Cheery Lynn Dies and WOW Embossing Powders

6 Apr
Today I am using my Cheery Lynn Dies along with some fabulous stamps and embossing powders from Wow Embossing Powders by the lovely Suzy West.
I cam across this adorable bookmark on Etsy:
I always look at things and think..ooh, I could do that even though I do not have the exact supplies the original was made out of.  With all my Cheery Lynn Designs dies, I knew I would be able to make my own version of this Japanese Kokeshi doll.  I also knew I wanted to use all of my WOW EMBOSSING GLITTERS and WOW STAMPS to accentuate the patterned papers I was going to use for the doll.
Here is my version…
My doll is much bigger than the bookmark and I have turned it into a plaque rather than a bookmark.
For the doll and clothing I used Scalloped Circle Stackers and Scalloped Oval Stackers.
I enhanced the dies and patterned paper with the Wow Embossing Powders and Stamps. You can see the sparly patterns on the dress and the background and I used one of the WOW STAMPS from the “CALL ME” for the doll’s hair.
The flower and lace embellishments are made with the dies called:  Queen Anne’s Lace, Buttons1 and the MediumMiniature Roses.
The final touch was applying the sweet sentiment attached to an individual Pennant.
I just love how this cute little doll turned out and I hope you do also.
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.
