Happy Birthday with RubberMoon Stamps…

28 Jul

Today my oldest son turns….23!!  I can’t believe it!  This birthday card is for him..because he loves elephants!! )

I am using this stamp, called eluvphant.

First I got all my stamp colors out.

IMG_5966

I stamped the elephant 2 times per color.

IMG_5967

I used an exacto knife to cut along the line for the ear, so I could make the ear more 3-d.

IMG_5970

As you can see, for each elephant, one got to keep the tail and heart, the other is minus the tail and heart, but has it’s ear 3-D’d. I hope that makes sense.

On the base elephant, I put some dimensional foam.

IMG_5971

The result is that you get a 3-D elephant that even stands on it’s own.

IMG_5974

Here are all the elephants ready to go.

IMG_5976

Next, to create the card base…I had the idea to make the white portion, mimic the sky by sewing random swirls on the paper.

IMG_5980

Instead of cutting all the threads, I gathered them all up and taped them on the backside of the paper.  By doing this the threads don’t loosen and become a nuisance.

IMG_5985

To space the elephants, I eyeball it, before attaching them all to the paper.

After attaching everything, I added a clear Happy Birthday Sticker, and here is the final product.

On the wings of …. a Butterfly!

14 Sep
Anyone else remember that song?  “On the Wings of Love”?
Hardly the inspiration for my card, but the title hit me when I was getting ready to write this post.
On the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog our new challenge this week is Borders and Edgers.
I tried to incorporate that theme into my card today.
I am still using my New Release dies and still very much in love with them all.
I love how colorful this is.  I think it fits the saying perfectly.
Be sure to check out our challenge and join in on the challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree to Cheery Lynn Designs.com.

Gel A Tins Child’s Card Kit

8 Mar

I have such a fun project and a story to share today!

Be prepared…LOT OF PICTURES!!

I am using the set called ELEPHANT GARDEN (ahem, again?  Yes, I LOVE THIS SET!)

I am using this tin I had left over from something.  I am also using some mini cards and envelopes.

To begin, I had gotten this sweet not from a friends little one and I was so touched and impressed by the thoughtfulness of the note.

There is no way they could have known my slight obsession with Mr. ROY G BIV, so that made this thank you note even more special.

It occurred to me that this sweet little one must do this often, sending notes or appreciation etc, and I thought I could make her a little card kit of her own.

Hence, today’s project!

To start I needed to make a SAMPLE for her to follow so I used some of the ELEPHANT GARDEN STAMPS and created a random background on my card front.

Since I am making a rainbow themed card kit, I will make each card with the colors of the rainbow, you’ll understand in a few more pictures.

Here is the completed sample card.

Inside each card I have placed this lined paper so she can write a little note.

Here are all the cards for her to make with the pieces she will need.

I tried to keep it all real simple and everything already has the adhesive attached.

I added a little place for her to sign the backs of her cards too.

Each card has an envelope, they are all done in black so she does not need to fuss about matching those up with the right card.

Now for the tin, I am using some chipboard and this wonderful paper ribbon.  The ribbon is from PAPER JACKS and you can find them here.

I stamped the background and painted and inked the chipboard pieces.

Then I took the paper ribbon and the chipboard letter and embossed them with black images.

Here is the completed tin, now to get everything stuffed in the tin.

Here is what it looks like when opened.

Here is the tin is all complete, all cards and sample are tucked safely inside.

The tin was a little too fat to stay closed, so I just added the ribbon but as the cards are used and given away, the tin will be able to stay closed on its own.

One last look, what do you think…will she like it??

Well, that is it for me today!  Again…head on over to Gel a Tins and that is where you can purchase this set for yourself.

Be sure to head on over to Gel A Tins Blog and see what other things our Design Team ladies have made with all the fun Gel A Tins stamps.

 Thanks for stopping by today.

Gel A Tins Elephant Love

1 Mar

I have such a fun card to show you today!

I am using the set called ELEPHANT GARDEN.

I am using a rainbow stamp pad that I recently acquired.

I took each stamped image and embossed them with clear embossing powder.

The result is this beautiful raised bright pattern.

I used this as my background paper and stamped the elephants from the set in the same manner.

Since this set is called Elephant Garden, I decided to create a scene the Elephants in a garden.

I love all the color and dimension on this card.

It is such a cheerful presentation.

What do you think?  I love this set!  I have so much fun creating with these fun elephants and whimsical patterns.

 Thanks for stopping by today.

I Heart {ippity} Wednesday Wowzer

22 Feb
Hello??  Is there anyone out there?  I hope so, because…I stayed up late creating a mini masterpiece to show you all today.
I am using one of the new release stamps by {ippity} called:
Sucks to Get Old
I wanted to show you that these duos are so wonderful, and you don’t have to get hung up on the phrase that your image comes with.  #1, the phrase and image are 2 different stamps and #2, because they are 2 different stamps you can mix an match and the possibilities are endless.
For this project, I only used the Image, the lollipop.
I paper pieced it using my brand new, super dee duper, Momenta Cardstock Paper.
For the phrase, I used some letter stickers from my Momenta Super Paper Pad.
I took the time to make sure that the candy jar still looked cute even after the tag was removed.
Sometimes it’s the little touches that make a projects really stand out.
I also wanted to show you I fixed my annoying error from my project last week.
I put a lot of time and effort into this card and took the pictures and while editing the pictures it hit me that I should have made the card front so it opens while holding it as a rainbow shape.
So, I took it apart and fixed my error and I am so much happier with this card now.
I had a giveaway for this and my wonderful friend, Donna, is the lucky recipient of this colorful card.
This card was made with the stamp set called:
Friendship Rainbow
I hope you have liked my projects today!  Check out my blog post today…I am giving away the TAG from the Candy Jar project…so you know the drill:
Go leave some FACEBOOK LOVE, Blog Love…what ever you do..leave a comment here..telling me what you did, each comment counts as an entry!

Cheery Lynn Designs Happy/Colorful card time

20 Jan
Let’s start with a disclaimer first!  I need a good Rainbow quote so I asked my top secret group of ladies from the Paper Issues team for help.  I got some GOOD ONES too!
Well my virtual buddy, Michelle, gave the quote I used…and I asked if she came up with it…but she went off line and I had to make an executive decision on using the quote!
I GOOGLED it and came up with nothing EXACTLY the same…so I gave credit to Michelle, sort of an inside joke, but a compliment to her at the same time…End of story!
On to my project!
My card today is my effort to use the rest of the dies I didn’t get a chance to use on my NEW RELEASE post.
I am using the new dies Country Girl, French Lattice Small and Cuties #4.
I have the Lattice cut in white on top of a white piece of paper that I have used the Pierce Plate on.
How do you like those flowers?  They are a very TOP SECRET design I came up with myself and maybe is enough people say..”OOOH, HOW DID YOU DO THAT?”  I might do a tutorial on them sometime soon!
There is something so striking and satisfying to me about bright colors on a white background.
There are so many different ways to do this and I never tire of trying new ways.
I am having a blast with all the new dies.  I love making my own custom flowers and these new Cuties #4 are fabulous to work with.
Be sure to check out our new challenge…

Wednesday Wowzer, with my good friend Roy G. Biv

23 Nov

There are a couple of things in this world that never cease to make me smile.  I am grateful it is a big list.

Aside from the usual things like my hubby and children etc., they are a give for smiles, near the top of my list are:

Polka Dots – ALWAYS & FOREVER (I have no idea why)

Roy G. Biv – (love this guy)

Flowers – (all sorts)

Here is a card based on some of the things that make me smile.

I used the following sets for today’s card:

Time for Friends

Straight from the Heart

I made each one of those flowers from coffee filters.

I don’t drink coffee, but I do buy coffee filters!  Aren’t these flowers great?

I wanted to keep the background simple so the flowers could really stand out.

I used the heart from the Straight to the Heart set and colored it to match the card.

That’s my wow for you today!

Please head on over to I Heart {ippity} and see what the other ladies have made to WOW you.

We have such an INCREDIBLE team.  They are all so talented, go check for yourself.

ROYGBIV, I love you!!

6 Aug

I have to tell you, seeing the colors of the rainbow all lined up, makes me giddy.  I mean I feel a surge of happiness just looking at something based on the simple colors of a rainbow.  I entered a swap for some ATC cards.  I needed to create the cards based something that is ME!  I have NEVER done these before..so I just made mine like a mini card.  I found a wonderful phrase to go with my design and of course, I added some POLKA DOTS and voilà, here is my finished project!

I found this wonderful product on ETSY.  I think the commercial name for them is DEW DROPS.  They make any project sparkle and add a little pizzaz.  I have tried to take a close up so you can see them.

You can really see the 3D effect on this one.  Such a happy project!

Can you believe I made 20 of those?  They were A LOT of work.  All the scraps are sewn first, then I sewed all the flower/button accessories, added sparkle, dew drops and polka dots!!  Lots of love in these.  I really enjoyed making them!

In the next few days I can reveal my PK GLITZ design team projects, I have to wait for them to post them, then I can show you!!  I also have to show you another finished project, the one I was calling the “MANTEL PROJECT”  It is done..pictures soon!!  Let me know how you like the ATC’s!!!!

My very first Design Team Challenge

18 Jun

One of my new best friends makes the most adorable SVG files and has a store on ETSY called Paper Faces Designs.  You can find her blog at http://theresetravis.net/ I have been honored to be part of her all brand new start-up DESIGN TEAM and I am GIDDY.  This is my project using one of her designs.  The file is called “CHLOE” in her ETSY shop.  If you have a CRICUT and a little girl, you have to visit her blog and  ETSY store.

My project will be one of a total of 7 you will see over time.  I want to keep this short so I will not explain what my project will all entail, but my project I am posting here is Phase 1 of 7 phases (think kids).  I hope you enjoy.  Please leave me some feedback and critique the project, ok?
