Yummy Gel-a Tins Cupcake Card

17 Nov

I thought that since last week when I used the set  Sweet Cakes, I had used Shrink Film and the cupcakes were tiny.

So this week, I am using the stamps full size.

I decided to use coordinating papers from Authentique Paper – Fair Weather collection.

I love using un-usual prints for things like cupcake card.  I think it gives the card lots of personality when I use non-traditional types colors/prints for something like cupcakes.

To describe briefly how I made this, let me start with the background.

I used an embossing folder on the white paper first, then I used gold ink here and there and used clear embossing powder to make the embossing shine.

After those steps were done, I sprayed some Tattered Angels on it and let it dry.

I then attached my ribbon and did the sewing around the edge.

For the cupcakes, I stamped them on different patterned papers, cut them out and adhered them to the gray paper.  I had already distressed the gray paper and cut them to size.

I then adhered all the cupcakes to the card front, and embellished the cupcakes with dimensional glaze, glass beads and that  sparkly white powder.

The final step was the phrase.  It did not fit in the frame, so I stamped it again and went outside the frame as shown.

I hope you like this card as much as I do.  It is fun to come with different techniques to use on cards and I always enjoy sharing a tip or two.

I am enjoying working with Gel-a-Tins, they are simply wonderful!

Tuesday with Sweet Stamps New Challenge

15 Nov

This week on the  Sweet Stamps blog is a very fun challenge.

Remember that if you link up to our challenge, you have the chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to Sweet Stamps.com.

The challenge this week is using Non-Traditional colors for a Christmas Card.

I had so much fun making this card and I love the colors.

I used papers from the Christmas Joy  6 x 6 pack by First Edition.

You seriously have to try this paper, it is awesome.  Sweet and whimsical designs and gorgeous prints.

I embossed the Medium snowflake on the paper and also used some of the paper I had embossed with the snowflake for my die cut ornaments.

The I used is called Star & Round Bauble ornament.

**BIG TIP** Before cutting paper that you have embossed, put a layer of wax paper between your die and embossed image or you will end up with your embossed image stuck to your die.

Maybe I know a thing or two about this?

This was a very easy challenge for me since the paper I used has a lot of  non-traditional colors in it.

I would love for you to stop by the Sweet Stamps blog and see what everyone else has come up with.

Hmmm, I wonder what colors everyone has used?

Sweet Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs Vintage Touch

20 Sep
This is somewhat of a combined post for me as I have made today’s project for both Sweet Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs.
I am helping a Cheery Lynn Designs DT member and we have traded days, just for this week.
Normally I make cards for Sweet Stamps, but today Sweet Stamps new theme starts and the theme is:
So, I made a Scrapbook page.
I have put so many fun things on this layout I do not know where to begin.
All my flowers are made with our new STACKER FLOWERS.
In addition to the Stacker Flowers, I have also used the following dies:
That Gorgeous floral swag is Sweet Stamp’s
By cutting of the oval outline, I was able to create these floral swags.
I also framed the first letter of my saying with the POSTAGE STAMP stamp.
Here is a side view to see all the dimension in our new Flower Stackers.
These flowers are just gorgeous and so easy to assemble.
Most of my paper supplies and embellishments are from my September Tally Scrapper’s Monthly Kit.
I am also entering this in the Tally Scrapper’s September Kit Challenge .  I have to use at least 75% of supplies for the page from my Tally Scrapper kit and my theme has to be VINTAGE.  So, how do you think I did?
The saying is from a song by a funny little group called Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes.
The line I used is “Home is wherever I’m with you.”
My hubby and I just had this picture takes at his 30th high school reunion last weekend.  It was the perfect picture for this layout that just dreamed up.
I could not have done this layout with out all my Alphas and Tiny Types from Authentique Paper.
I hope you have enjoyed my post today.  I had so much fun putting it all together.
I will be back next Friday with another fun project for Cheery Lynn Designs, so until then..bye for now.
