Recipe for Fun Blog Hop

14 Jul

Welcome to the Joys Life RECIPE FOR FUN BLOG HOP.

I have made 2 things to inspire you.

A Popcorn snack set.

I am using the set called Yummy Puns.

All of my paper and twine are from Canvas Corp.

This adorable little tin is from Joy’s Life.com. You can find them under the tab that says Craft Containers.

I made this on a piece of durable 12 x 12 piece of cardstock so it holds up nicely.

Aren’t these colors just perfect for a nice sleepover, get together or Foodie type party?

You know how BLOG HOPS WORK!!

KAISERCRAFT Tribute and Design Team Submission

29 Apr

Where to begin.  I have a ton of things to share today!

Kaisercraft is having their Design Team Call.  If you love paper like I do, you’d be crazy not to love them.  There lines are awesome!  High quality paper, huge variations and very much my style.

Now, I could not get my hands on Kaisercraft at my local store, so I had to order online.

Bear with me as I tried to use the things I had and tried to make it all look different.

I mostly used the things from the line called NAN’S FAVOURITES.

This line fit perfectly with me.  I am a HUGE, I mean the BIGGEST MARY ENGELBREIT FAN in the world, and NAN’S FAVOURITES is a fun and whimsical line, just like Mary and I like!

Project #1

A Small Kitchen Birdie House

Side View

Another Side View

My 4 yo daughter wanted this for her dolls.  The colors are so enticing.

This was a lot of fun to make.  I really want more paper to make a set!

Project #2

A Kitchen Counter Recipe Card Holder

I made this with an EMPTY CD HOLDER.

I am always taping my recipe cards on my cupboards, so this is for ME.

This is the Decorated Holder without a Recipe card:

On the back, I added a small pocket that hold a list of those EMERGENCY SUBSTITUTIONS I always need.

In a family of 9, like we have, we are always out of something and needing a quick substitute!

Here is the recipe card I made to match the holder.

It has a flap, to put a picture of the recipe inside.

Granted, I would and will not do this to every recipe I have, but what a nice gift idea to pass on 1 or 2 recipes this way.

The funny thing about this recipe, it was part of a PAPER KIT, I got as part of my MAY DESIGN STAR stint on TALLY SCRAPPER.com.

It was supposed to be used as decorative paper, but I loved the recipe and wanted to keep it.

Here is the CD HOLDER lying flat, in case you could not visualize how I made this.

Side view, you just open it up until it goes to the stopping point, it will look like this standing up.

Project #3

12 x 12 Scrapbook Page

I used the die cut paper I got with my NAN’S FAVOURITE order.

I had some other KAISERCRAFT PAPER, the black and white and pink and white papers, so this is a compilation of different KAISERCRAFT papers.

My little daughter was born at 3o weeks gestation.  She was so tiny.

It broke my heart to go home, without her.  Round trip to visit her was just over 4 hours.

I made that trip everyday that she was in the NICU.

This side view is showing the depth I created by using dimensional foam.

It really gives a page a certain flair when you take the time to layer your pictures and embellishments this way.

Project #4

Thinking of you card

The heart banner is made from KAISERCRAFT polka dot papers.  I used both sides, since their paper is double sided.

The jewels are all KAISERCRAFT too!

They stick like a dream!

Project #5

Thanks Card

Same double sided KAISERCRAFT papers with a new look.

I just love POLKA DOTS, they make EVERYTHING BETTER!

This is a tri-fold card I made up.  Here is what it looks like as you open it up.

Such a whimsical little card.

Project #6

Mother’s Day Card with the VEGGIE TALES

I blogged about this today.

The dies are from Cheery Lynn Designs.  You can read today’s post here:

Project #7

Friendship Card

I love strawberries.  My favorite color is red, I love this card!

Project #8

Friendship HUMOROUS card

This card is a small work of art.

I put a lot of effort and thought into this.

It is made on chipboard.  The circle I cut from my Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

I was given a couple of those large flower chipboard dies and wondered what to do with them.

I think this card is so much fun.

Sometimes life gives you lemons, and sometimes friendships require a quirky card like this, right?

Here is the back.  I had this awesome rub on that matched the theme perfectly.

It says, “Funky, Fresh and Fun”

Isn’t that perfect??

Here is a side picture, this is such a fun, happy card!

Projects #9 – 11

Wall Hangings

This is a trio of plates I have altered with some old Mary Engelbreit wallpaper and lots of paper from NAN’S FAVOURITE line.

The plates measure 8 inches.

I adhered my background paper to the BACK of the plate.

All the embellishments are on the FRONT side of the plate.

Don’t you love all those buttons?  To keep them looking somewhat alike,

I punched small dots out of the scraps of NAN’S FAVOURITES and adhered the dots to the centers of the buttons.

The center dolies were made with COOKIE DOUGH paper and my CHEERY LYNN DESIGNS English Tea Party Doily die.

I added some Nan’s Favourites Die Cut Elements here and there.

This picture makes the plates look small, but they take up about 3 feet of wall for the arrangement.

They are side by side on my kitchen wall.

Talk about a post right?  Anyone still with me?  ANYONE?

I wanted to be sure and thank my SUPPLIER:

YOURSCRAPBOOKSUPPLY on Ebay.

Huge variety, great prices and shipping was very low.  Go check out the store, you will not be disappointed.

Let her know Jeannie from THE POLKA CABANA sent you over.

Ladies and any gentlemen, please wish me luck.  I am sure KAISERCRAFT will be flooded with submissions.

Here is hoping something in my blog post here will catch their eye.

I will be back with a SUNDAY POST for the CHEERY LYNN DESIGNS new die release,

hmmm…which fabulous new die will I use?  Come back on Sunday and see!

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by THE POLKA CABANA!
