Sweet Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs Vintage Touch

20 Sep
This is somewhat of a combined post for me as I have made today’s project for both Sweet Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs.
I am helping a Cheery Lynn Designs DT member and we have traded days, just for this week.
Normally I make cards for Sweet Stamps, but today Sweet Stamps new theme starts and the theme is:
So, I made a Scrapbook page.
I have put so many fun things on this layout I do not know where to begin.
All my flowers are made with our new STACKER FLOWERS.
In addition to the Stacker Flowers, I have also used the following dies:
That Gorgeous floral swag is Sweet Stamp’s
By cutting of the oval outline, I was able to create these floral swags.
I also framed the first letter of my saying with the POSTAGE STAMP stamp.
Here is a side view to see all the dimension in our new Flower Stackers.
These flowers are just gorgeous and so easy to assemble.
Most of my paper supplies and embellishments are from my September Tally Scrapper’s Monthly Kit.
I am also entering this in the Tally Scrapper’s September Kit Challenge .  I have to use at least 75% of supplies for the page from my Tally Scrapper kit and my theme has to be VINTAGE.  So, how do you think I did?
The saying is from a song by a funny little group called Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes.
The line I used is “Home is wherever I’m with you.”
My hubby and I just had this picture takes at his 30th high school reunion last weekend.  It was the perfect picture for this layout that just dreamed up.
I could not have done this layout with out all my Alphas and Tiny Types from Authentique Paper.
I hope you have enjoyed my post today.  I had so much fun putting it all together.
I will be back next Friday with another fun project for Cheery Lynn Designs, so until then..bye for now.
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Sketch Challenge…Are you ready???

11 Sep

As it is September 11th, I could not write a post and pretend that my thoughts are not heavy with memory of this day 10 years ago.

This will be my “I know exactly what I was doing” when the events of 9-11-2001 happened.  This is a picture from a very old scrapbook of mine.  This was taken on 9-12-2001, our firestation had the flags at half mass and my kids were gazing up to the flag.

A friend of mine asked to have this message shared:

“On this 10 th Anniversary I would wish everyone take a minute and remember what happened on 09/11/2001. Don’t ever forget. Be humbled by the loss and strengthened by the heroism. If you see and member of the armed forces, thank them for their service and be respectful of this date. The date that will forever be etched into our lives and our Generation. May the Angel’s fly high and the lost soar to the heavens with the glory and peace as their comfort.”

I just wanted to share my thoughts before delving into the Crafty things I have to share today.

Now, to switch gears, to my project for today’s post:

One of the teams I am on, Paper Issues, is the sponsor for the new Sketch at Sketch Inspiration!

Hope you can play along!
If you go over to Sketch Inspiration you can view the details of the challenge, click HERE.
Here is our sketch for this challenge:
This challenge starts today, September 11, 2011 and goes through till September 17, 2011.
Right now on Paper Issues our theme is LEARNING CURVE.
I have a habit of forgetting my camera at home and had to ask for a volunteer for some 1st day of school pics…
Luckily I had a taker and here is my creation for them, based on the sketch above.
This was a fun, FUN page to make.
To begin with I have to put a plug-in for Tally Scrapper.com.
Most of the paper is from the September Tally Kit.  Fabulous things all matched and coordinated for you by one of the most talented designers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
You can order yours HERE:
I thought the paper was perfect for this little girl layout! The apples are from a file from My Scrap Chick.
Everything else is just a mixture of coordinating things I had on hand.
I especially love the made up heart “APPLE”.  I love just making up my own things.
I used to think that things like dimension and sewing on pages was a total DIVA thing, but I guess I have turned my self into a DIVA because now, I love to sew and add dimension to my pages and cards.  I have learned to never say never, that’s for sure!
I know you will love the prize shown at the top of this post.  You have a week!
Meaning a whole week to get a layout done and get yourself entered for that prize.
Get yourself over to Sketch Inspirations, get the sketch printed and start scrappin!
If you do, link back to me or let me know so I can see what you have created!
For now..I am off to clean up one very messy and unorganized scrap room!
Wish me lunch and have a great rest of your Sunday.

Need a favor from you all!! Great gift idea!!

11 Aug

I had the pleasure of connecting with a very talented graphic artist.

The name of her business is Modern Typography.

I did a formal review for her on the Simply Stacie Blog.

I am posting today to give you a closer look at the family tree I have created out of the print I received for my review.

For my review, I got to choose my own print to have personalized.

Imagine Modern Typography‘s surprise when I wrote and asked if could be personalized with 7 kids.

Her sample was for a nice small family.

She worked on it and gave me many options.

This was my order and I was very, very happy with it!

She personalizes everything to suit your needs.  You can even choose your own quote or scripture.

Look at the extra freebies she enclosed!  Such cute things~!

Now you know I love paper and I am always making something.

I know that tree would have been fine as is…but something in me just can’t leave well enough alone.

So I took some things from my August Tally Kit, came up with this lovely piece of art.

The Kit is called BEAUTIFUL SOUL and you can still get one of these kits HERE for $21.00.

I just love the way this turned out!  How bout you?

Imagine making something like this for a newly married couple and leaving the branches blank to fill in along the way.

Or what about a gift for a grandma with all her grandchildren listed?

So many ideas I could come up with.

I used many Cheery Lynn Design dies on this, so I do have to make a plug for them also!

I would love for you to visit her ETSY store.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/ModernTypography

Please do consider her and use her for any gift occasions you have coming up!  Really, I think her things are fantastic and very unique!  Perfect for so many occasions!

Visit her and like her on FACEBOOK to keep up on what she is doing.

https://www.facebook.com/moderntypographyblog

Also, go on over to the Simply Stacie blog and get in on the giveaway, I am hoping there is someone out there who will not want to wait for the giveaway to be over and purchase something now…so there you have it..my hope for the day!

Here is the review and giveaway link for the Simply Stacie blog:

Remember to let Modern Typography know that Jeannie sent you over!

Have a great day and happy shopping!!!

New Theme up on Paper Issues!!

31 Jul

Whoo whoooo!  MAKE A SPLASH!!

That is the new theme on Paper Issues.

What have you got to share???  I am going to share some ATC’s and other projects I can find!  Let me start with these little ATC”S I did for a swap on TALLY SCRAPPER.COM.

I have to get these little things in the mail!

Aren’t these just darling??

I made a set of 6!

Did you see the little ladybug on each card?

Next is this scrapbook page I made also for Tally Scrapper.com.  This is all supplies from out JULY TALLY KIT.

I had never worked with Sassafrass Lass papers until this kit came out!  I was and instant fan!

For this challenge I had to create a layout and emboss at least 3 items.

What do you think of that crystal trim?

I embossed about everything!  Love this layout!

Perfect fit for Make a Splash..agree?

Here is another layout I did for Tally Scrapper.com.

This was made with the August Tally Kit.  They have the MOST FABULOUS KITS!!.

Check some of the old ones out!

http://www.tallyscrapper.com/scrapbook-monthly-kit.php

I made this layout for our challenge called Tally Treasure Hunt.

The requirements for this challenge were:

It had to be about Summer Fun and had to have: 3 pictures, stamping, cardboard and a circle.

Last I have to share these little ATC’s…my son made these for a swap earlier this year.

I cut everything out for him and he assembled them!

The ones he got in return were nowhere near the work he put into his.

Luckily it did not phase him!

Now it is your turn to LINK UP!

Head on over to Paper Issues.

Momenta Projects as Momenta’s July 2011 Guest Designer

23 Jul

Today I am posting as the July Guest Designer for Momenta.com.  They were very generous with the items they sent me to create with.

My items were all made with the kit called SIMPLY PERFECT.

I have made quite a few things to show you and I still have TONS of paper and embellishments left over.

First I made a festive seasonal decoration.

This could go on a mantle, counter or on a table as a centerpiece.

For the lettering that spells out SUMMER, I used the MY MOMENTA create-your-own stickers.

I downloaded the template  and was able to use some festive digital paper I had on hand by designer Crystal Wilkerson.

Here is a close-up of my button flowers, I just love them.

I made a sweet little summer scene with the cardstock stickers.

The scene is made within a 4 inch bottle cap that Maya Road makes.

Oh, and what about that green trim from my MAY Tally Scapper’s Kit?  Isn’t it perfect with this paper line?

When my little kids saw this, they both were just amazed that I made it and wanted to know if I was magic!

Next, I made a trio of cards to show that the  Simply Perfect kit is very versatile.

Have you tried embossing your patterned paper?  I love doing this!

My new thing now is using tiny paper clips to add more embellishments.

Oh and of course, do not forget to add buttons and polka dots!

The cardstock stickers  are wonderful for my card making moments.

I really love how all 3 of these cards turned out.

Here they all are!

For my last project(s), I found these MDF frames at my local Ben Franklin.

Using the 12×12 papers, I mixed and matched the papers for background and then built scenes to go along with the color and theme of the paper.

Aren’t these colors so bright and happy?

The lettering that came in the kit was perfect!

You have to love how those glasses sparkle, thank to GRAFIX ART and their fabulous product called FUNKY FILM

Oooh, I just love everything about how this turned out!

Of course if I make one for the 4 yo, I have to make one for the 7 yo too!

Using the same paper line, I was able to make a boyish frame too!  Thank you Momenta

Aren’t the colors the best?  The embellishments in this line are just so fun to work with.

I just love the vibrant look of the finished products.

Here the frames are side by side.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have made with Momenta wonderful products.

You especially have to go check out the Do it Yourself Stickers.  What a fabulous idea.  Can you imagine being able to make your own stickers and have them match any layout in the world?  That is possible when you make your own.  So be sure to go on over and check out everything Momenta.com has to offer.

Paper Piecing with I Heart {ippity} stamps

20 Jul

Last week, I had a mini contest going and I am so happy with the amount of participants!  I had 12 entries and you can see here that I used RANDOM.ORG and it chose comment #2!

Comment #2 was submitted by Heather!  So Ms. Heather, please pm me your address..you know how to find me!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Today, I have made a card that covers 3 important things for me!

First, it is for my DT with the awesome blog I Heart {ippity), second, I am entering this into the PAPER PIECING CHALLENGE on the UNITY OPPORTUNITY CHALLENGE blog and third, I am using some more supplies from my Tally Scrapper August kit.

I have used the stamp set called: FLOWERS + FRIENDS = PRICELESS.

As you can see, I have paper pieced the flowers and put them on top of my Cheery Lynn Designs die cut flowers called:

JUDY’S BLOOMS.

I love stamping the phrases and cutting them apart and then putting them back together again.  It is a lot of work, but I love how it looks.  My little flag was part of the August Tally Scrapper kit also, however it did not match my card, so I covered it with some of the new AUTHENTIQUE PAPER and added an AUTHENTIQUE DICTION sticker to match the card theme.  Both are from the line called Journey.

I also love adding beads to my cards!  You can see I have also made some handmade paper beads from the paper in my AUGUST TALLY SCRAPPER KIT and can you believe how cute that Zebra ribbon is?  Also from the Tally Scrapper August kit.  I think I will host a giveaway for this card also…

My first I Heart {ippity} project

6 Jul

If there was ever a time I would love to convince you of the quality of a product, this is the time!

I have not had a chance to work with {ippity} stamps before this project.

The stamps come die cut in a nice package you can reuse for storage.

I was very impressed with the quality of the mounting and how easy it was to break them apart for use, thanks to the die cut rubber!

I was ready to use my set in no time flat!  Really!

The set I used today is called:

Flowers + Friends = Priceless

I loved working with this set.  I don’t think I could ever tire of using it.

I also have used the SUPER FANTABULOUS JULY TALLY KIT.

Here is a picture of the Kit:

Without further ado, here is my card:)

I love  how whimsical the flowers are.

What do you think of the embossing on that blue paper?

That is my Cheery Lynn Designs BURBLE/CHEESECLOTH TEXTURE EMBOSSING PLATE.

Here is a side view so you can see the layering and detail.

I simple loved the Crystal Embellished ribbon in the July Tally Kit!  Isn’t it divine?

There you have it, my first I HEART {ippity} card!
