Back to School Time

3 Sep

I am not one of those parents who will lament that Summer is over.

Nope, I have been counting the days down till they go back.  (Sigh)

I have to be especially thankful for those Angels on earth, called teachers, who devote their days to teaching (my) kids.

Over on the Bloom Girl Design Team Blog is my Post today, celebrating Back to School, but also celebrating my thankfulness for their time.

Here is a peek, but you’ll have to visit the blog to see the whole thing.

Bloom Girl August Challenge

1 Aug

This is my first ever post for the Bloom Girl design team!!  Hooray!  I am so happy!

http://bloomgirlsdesignteam.blogspot.com/

We are going to have monthly challenges, and this is out very first one!  Below you can see the inspirational colors and palette for the challenge.  Go to the Bloom Girl Design Team Blog for the Challenge specifics.

I have told you in previous blog posts that I my 7 yo is currently battling Trichotillamania.  You can read about it here, Trich.org. It is my preferred go to for information on this disorder.

My little one REALLY, REALLY, wants to get her ears pierced, which  am totally fine with, her dad…well that is another story.  He has let her know as soon as she can get the little eyelashes growing back on her eyes, she can get her ears pierced.  She is TOTALLY on board with this.  So, what my project here today is a calendar to help her track her progress.  Every day we can still see evidence that they are sprouting, she gets a sticker.

I will probably reward her weekly, since she is young and waiting for her GRAND PRIZE(her pierced ears) will take a long time.

So, this is the 1st page for her calendar, and the words are perfect because we wants those eyelashes to “Bloom & grow”

As for supplies I used…where do I start??

The, Bloom Girl, stamp I used is called GARDENIA.  The Bloom Girl Stamps are HUGE!!  Be sure to invest in getting a 6″x8″ Prima Stamp Block.

I hope you will join along in our challenge.  I know there are going to be some fabulous projects that we will see!

Make you week a great one and do something fabulous for someone you love!!

A Mushroom Recap

12 May

This is going to be a quick recap using my FAVORITE little Mushroom Stamps.  I have been sick, oh so sick, and need a couple more hours to finish up on my other Rubbermoon project.

But, I wanted to show you just how many things and how many different TYPES if things I have made with just a couple of the RUBBERMOON stamps.

This was last months project, the one I made with things I had inherited from my mom…

Using the same stamp plus some others, I was able to digitally create this shirt for a sweet friend.

Project 1

Project 1a

Then using my same magic WOW, computer skills that I used on the above T-shirt, I was able to make this plaque.  Do you want to know something pretty cool?

She loved all this so much, and my phrase, she’s actully having the phrase tattooed to her back.  I tole her that is awesome, because then I can tell people, something I made up has been, “published.”

Project 2

Project 2a

Project 2b

Then there was this book mark too!

Project 3

Project 3a

So can you see how versatile stamps are.  You do not need a million to create with, just a couple you really like and the sky is the limit!

I will be making another post soon, so come back then to see what I have created, sans mushrooms!!

Have you missed me??

15 Oct

I have taken some time off from blogging, BUT, guess what?  I am BACK!!

Not only am I back, I have got some terrific news about a new team I have been chosen for..

Introducing…RubberMoon Arts!!  The Creative team for RubberMoon Stamps!!  HOORAY!!

To try out for this team, we were asked to make 3 never before seen projects.

I was limited in what RubberMoon stamps I had, so bear with the repetition in my projects..

All 3 of my projects were made for a wonderful, sweet coworker who happens to be a total book lover!!

So, the stamps I had were perfect.  I took advantage of my digital abilities and created 1 total digital project, 1 digital hybrid project and 1 traditional stamped project.

Here they all are:

Those of you who have been with me, I hope you will join me as I embark on this new adventure.  I am thrilled for this opportunity.  Not only do I love the style of RubberMoon stamps, we also carry these in the store I work at, Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames.  So this feels like a personal endeavor as well!

I hope you will enjoy the things I will be sharing in the upcoming months!!

Shopping Girl’s Dream

7 Sep
This is a little shadow box I got for $1.00 at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section because what ever was in the shadow box had been ripped off.
Knowing I would use it at some point, yep, I bought the silly thing.
I’m so lucky to have all my Cheery Lynn Designs Dies to work with. Here is what my $1.00 “purchase” turned out like.
Improvement, agree?
I took the Reflections Scalloped Circle Die, and used it as a 1/2 circle for the banners at the top.
I framed the sentiment on the bottom with Scalloped Rectangles.
All my papers are by Authentique Paper and the stamp set it called If the Shoe Fits, by Unity Stamp Co.
I think this turned out adorable and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana posting for Cheery Lynn Designs.
Be sure and check out our Challenge blog.

Imaginisce & Cheery Lynn Designs

10 Aug
It has been a fantastic week of fun over at Cheery Lynn Designs.
We have been teaming up with Imaginisisce papers and products and our design team has been making such fun things to see this week .
Today it is my turn!!!
I have created a set of altered notebooks.
They are made from basic composition books that you can get from your local office supply store. The ones that look like this:
But with a little imagination, Imaginisce products and Cheery Lynn Designs Dies, you can create some adorable purse notebooks.
The dies I have used on these are, Flip Flops, Fanciful Flourish, Buttons 1, Zig Zag Ric RacStacker Flower 3 and Fish.
I love making these.  I think that the more bright and colorful the papers are, the better the “purse” turns out.
I also used Imaginisce’s i-rock tool to adhere some colorful hot rocks to both purses.
The large SUN KISSED DIE CUTS are so cute and the girl on the purse I think is the perfect touch!
Here is what the back of the purse looks like.
Here is the inside.
Here is the little “mini” purse.
Mini back.
Isn’t it the cutest thing?
Here is the inside of the mini.
One last look.
I hope you have enjoyed my projects today.
I have enjoyed working with Imaginisce this week.  I am a huge fan and this has been quite and honor.
This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Back to School Altered Notebook

4 Aug

Hi everyone…I am here with a bit of a late post for Joy’s Life.com, thanks to lots of smoke in the air affecting my little one with asthma..not a fun past 48 hours, let me tell you!
This week over at Joy’s Life.com , we are all working on projects gearing up for BACK TO SCHOOL.
I have this adorable purse to show you.  Have you seen these before????
Can you tell what it is made out of??

First of all let me point out I have made a sweet little tag from the LOTS OF PUN stamp set.

Here is a close up of the front, you can tell, but the sewing scene is all sewn into a pouch of vinyl.

Here is a side view and maybe now you can tell this is made from a simple inexpensive composition notebook.

Here is the inside.

More of the inside.

Here is a view of the back.

One last look at the front.

I didn’t have pattern for this, I just kind of made it up as I went along.
I just LOVE it!  I thought it was perfect for the whole back to school theme.
Maybe a bit fancy for grade school, but maybe for the up and coming new designer, seamstress?
Who knows!  It is just SEW DARN CUTE!!
This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today’s post.
