6 Feb
Hello Crafty Ones!
I am here to show you my I Heart Ippity project, hooray:)
I have used a lot of different stamp sets for this;)
The polka dot gift bag, I picked up over at Deena Ziegler.com.
I made a heart shrinky dink with some Grafix Arts Red Shrink Film.
Inside my gift bag is a candy filled tube of M & M’s.
Plastic tube and papers are from my workplace, Ben Franklin Crafts in Grass Valley, CA.
Now to let you know all the stamps I used, get ready….
What do you think?  Wouldn’t you love to get a Valentine like this?
I hope I have “WOW”ed you today!  Thank for stopping by and visiting.

Fun in the Sun Blog Hop

16 Jun

Welcome to the Joys Life FUN IN THE SUN BLOG HOP.

I have made 2 things to inspire you with.

The first is a home decor piece.

I am using the set called Sweet Popsicle Puns.

All of my paper and canvas pieces are from Canvas Corp.

You can see that I used the stamp and stamped directly on the twill tape and canvas pieces.

I made this on a piece of durable chipboard and it measures 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.

Aren’t these colors just perfect for a nice summer decorative piece?

The next thing I did was this adorable card.  Again all my papers are by Canvas Corp.

The sentiment is also from the Sweet Popsicle Puns set.

I think this is just so delicate with the tiny bathing suits.

The phrase is just perfect for this quick a clean card.

I would love to receive a card like this, wouldn’t you?

 Now…the fun still goes on..

Mary Engelbreit meets {ippity}, Polka style!!

9 May
For those of you who know my tastes and styles a little, it should come as no surprise how much I over the top, totally and forever LOVE MARY ENGELBREIT, right?
Well today I am using a card pattern I have from one of her books.
It is a tri-fold card.
Here is the front of the card.
I am using the set called Something Groovy.
One of my favorite things to do is to use my Mary Engelbreit calendars for my cards and things
I was not quite sure if I could find a picture that went along with this 70’s inspired Something Groovy stamp set…but I did! (I think the girl is PERFECT for this card!)
The center portion of the card is a pocket.
All my bright and fun paper is from
This is the saying that was on the calendar page I used, it goes perfect with the theme of the card.
Here is the card all laid open.
Here it is folded back up.
Standing up, so you can get an idea of how it is made.
This was such a fun project to make!
I hope you have enjoyed this card!

Gel A Tins – The Simple Life card

19 Apr

I have made a very clean and simple card for you today.

I am using the set called WILD THINGS.

This has got to be my favorite Gel A Tins set!

I decided to go simple with my colors.

You can see my main color is white.

I have been working a lot with Grafix Arts paper products.

They have amazing Vellum and all my white paper is vellum.

(sorry you can see the adhesive, it must have been the time of night, since you can’t see the the adhesive indoors!)

I love how white embossing powder looks on white vellum!  So pretty!

I also have used Grafix Arts Black Chipboard to make the frame for my sentiment. It is amazing, since it is black all the way through!  PERFECT for mounting and framing things!

I wanted to create a peaceful setting with the placement of the flowers and butterflies..

OK

I thought this would be the perfect for someone going through a rough spot.  Someone who needed to take time out and enjoy the little things in life!

Simpler times!

(I think I need to mail the card to myself!!)

I hope you have enjoyed my project for today, this has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

I Heart {ippity} Wednesday Wowzer

18 Apr
My post is late today as I was awaiting the right amount of sunshine to take my picture.  I had the card all ready to go, when MARMALADE..the neighbors cat decided to come and visit!  OOPS!
Anyhow, I am using this fun sketch from the Chick Challenges blog.
Here is my take on the sketch.
Lots of stitching on this card.  There are quite a few layers!
I am using the set called We’re Better Together.
I also am using lots of fabulous Vellum and Metallic Foil Board from GRAFIX ARTS.
Are those bees just the cutest little things or what?
One final look.
Thanks for stopping by today and I am on way to link up to the sketch challenge over on the CHICK CHALLENGES blog!  I have used this sketch quite a bit and it is a good one!
Join us..or at least go visit to see all the fabulous entries.

An Authentique Paper Never Ending Card

13 Feb
I am excited to share a tutorial with you today. I made a card like this on my blog last week and had a lot of positive feedback, so I thought today I’d share with you how you can make your own.
I have named this card “The Never Ending Card.”
The original pattern for this came out of a book called Very Mary Stationary.
To start you will need 4 pieces of paper.
3 pieces all cut from the same paper will form the base.  The dimensions of those papers are:
4 1/2″ x 10 1/2″
1 1/4″ x 1 3/8″
1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
The other paper you will cut from Decorative Paper and the dimensions are:
4″ x 4″
Take the longest piece and from the left short edge score lines at
1) 1″
2) 1 3/8″
3) 5 7/8″
6 1/4″
Fold along the score lines and you are creating a box.  Put adhesive on the outer edge of the 1st scored section create the box shape.(see next picture)

Here is what it looks like, I like to decorate the front before assembling, I find it easiest to do it in this order.
For the tabs you will take the shorter pieces of paper and score them at these increments.
The 3 3/8 paper, score from the left at the 1 1/2″ mark and the 1 7/8″ mark.  Fold on the score lines and adhere to the card middle left.  This just acts a barrier so the inside card does not fall out.
For the 3 1/2″ paper score from the left at the 1″ mark and the 1 3/8 mark.  Fold on the lines and adhere the longer end to the inside center right.  To make the tab open or close, either use adhesive velcro or some sort of reusable adhesive.

For the card enclosure you will need on piece of paper that is 4″ x 10 3/4″.  Score this paper at the 2 1/2″ and 6 1/2″ marks.  Fold the shorter panel up to create an pocket and then fold the other score line to create the card.  Embellish as desired.
Here is the completed card front.  You can see that I used a Card Candi for my tab and underneath I used the Tack it Over and Over glue.
Here is a close up of the card front.  Don’t you love the Celebrate Papers?
Here is the card enclosure.
The card enclosure opens up to reveal a pocket inside..
…inside the pocket is a matching gift card holder.
Here is a close up of the gift card holder.  I just love the floral print on the enjoyment paper.
Here are the different pieces side by side.
Isn’t this a great card?
It really is easy to make, if you have any questions regarding how to make this..feel free to ask me.
I have been enjoying working with the Celebrate line and I hope you enjoyed my card today.

All Occasion beauty!

23 Dec
On my last Cheery Lynn Designs post, when I had made the Tussie Mussie, I really loved using the Wittle Weavers for weaving the base.  I knew this week I wanted to use the Wittle Weavers again, but this time I used them on my card background.
The creme and blue papers are woven together and then I used the Stitcher Plate to create the stitched look.
I love flowers so much and I never tire of creating them.  It is fun finding new ways to make them.
For the rolled up looking flower, I took the Wittle Wicker and cut strips of the blue and red papers.
Then I glued the strips together and wound them around a button to create the rolled flower.  The flower with the petals is made from our brand new Medium Rose.  The accordion flower is made with the leftover scraps I had from cutting out the ZIG ZAG RIC RAC.
Other dies I used were the Lace Edger and the Tropical Flourish.
The teddy bear is done on shrink film and is and adorable digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps called Teddy’s house.  It is removable to use as a decoration/ornament etc.
That does it for my project today!  I truly look at it and smile.
I never tire of making things and I hope you never tire of the things I share.
My wishes to all you are to have a wonderful holiday, enjoy your family and loved ones as we all celebrate this beautiful season.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Holiday gift and Decor with Authentique Paper

28 Nov
I have a fun and easy idea to pass on to you today.
I am using some paper from the Wonder 6 x 6 bundle and a plain glass frame.
To start off I cut a frame from a full size piece of Wonder’s, off-white foundation paper.
The frame measures 5″ x 7″.
You can see all the shapes that have been cut out on the left.
I took each paper and put the right side of my cut out to the wrong side of the patterned paper I was using. This is so I do not get pencil marks left over from tracing.
You can see here that I was careful to number and match each patterned paper piece to the pattern piece I was using.
All the pieces are cut out, it is time to get ready for assembly.
Using a paint dabber, I edged all my cut outs and also the frame.
I also took the frame base and edged that with the paint as well.
I covered the frame back with a neutral piece of cardstock to cover the frame clamp holes.
Next I adhered the frame.
I knew I wanted to have the cut outs be slightly raised, so I put dimensional foam down first.
Here is the first stage of the frame done.
Next, I took some vinyl and cut-out the word JOY.  I used a setting on my cutter that cuts through the vinyl, but not the vinyl backing.  Here you see that I have already cut and removed the excess vinyl and only the word JOY is on the backing.
This might be redundant for those who work with vinyl, but after I did the previous step, I took some mounting film and lifted the word off the vinyl backing.
What you see here is the vinyl attached to the mounting film. the sticky side of the film is on the back of the letters.  The mounting film will release the vinyl, once I attach the vinyl to the frame.
Here I have attached the word to the glass and I am peeling off my mounting film.
Step 2 , you can see below is all done.
Step 3 is optional.  What I did was to embellish the from of the glass further.
I added fibers, lace and beads to bring it all together.
It really is a beautiful piece and fairly easy and quick to make.
You could use this idea for any season or for any occasion based on what paper you use.
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and that you can use this idea for the upcoming holiday season.
