Gel A Tins Stamps – Elefuntastic Card

12 Apr
Hello everyone..
I am here with a cute card today.  I am using Mojo Monday’s Sketch #236
Here is the sketch.
I turned the sketch and used it like this:
I am using the set called:
Here is my version of the sketch from above.
It think this is such a sweet set. There are so many possibilities since there are so many stamps.
I took one of the largest elephants and embossed it with a glitter embossing powder.  It created a nice effect for the background.
I am using all MOMENTA paper products.
All of these wild prints are from a paper pack called:
I also used some ABC stickers from a Momenta 12 x 12 Super Paper Pad.  If you don’t have a phrase that matches your stamps, make one up!  That’s what I always do!
I hope you have enjoyed my sketch tweak today!  Do you use sketches?  I am new to using them but I am hooked!
What sketch sites you do like?
I would love to hear what you have to say.

Gel A Tins Stamps – Little Piggies

5 Apr
Hello everyone..
I am here with yet another cute card today.
I am using the set called:
When I make a card, I will often choose which image from which stamp set I want to use for my card/project.
With today’s card, I knew I wanted to use the piggies from the Pet Shop set.
So I started to look for different phrases for pigs and came up with nothing.
So then I decided to make my own background paper using the “This little piggie” poem.
I then mounted my piggies on the background paper and created a cute baby card.
I made the inside sentiment to go along with the theme.
I just think the piggies and the different shades of pink I used make a wonderful card!
My advice for today: Always look for the unexpected.
With a little imagination you can make almost any stamp set you own fit into a certain theme you need!
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today’s post.

Wednesday Wowzer PLUS!!

7 Dec

How are you today?

It is ME, you know the blog writer, with a fun new project with some {ippity} stamps.

I can say I do make these things for fun, but it is my effort to invite you over to I Heart {ippity} in hopes that you will try these fun stamps for yourself.

It also happens to be a time for celebration.  Our {ippity} leader in inviting you all to her birthday celebration where she is having some FABULOUS giveaways.

Be sure to check her HOME blog here:

http://www.papercrafteranonymous.com/

Today I wanted to show you a little ornament I came up with using the set CUPPY CAKES.

I took a Canvas Corp star and stamped the cupcake image onto it…

…I then stamped the cupcake on to various papers from the

My Minds Eye Ooh La La For Her line.

I added some hot fix pink pearls in swirl fashion and made the BABY trinket from Epiphany Crafts Shape Tool that I got the most wonderful deal on from YOUR SCRAPBOOK SUPPLY.

My final touch was to add the dangling beads and a flower made from Cheery Lynn Designs new roll up flower called CUTIES 3.  I made it this way so it could be used as a Baby’s 1st Christmas OR just a BABY of the family ornament.  It could even just be a room decoration, what do you think?

Think outside the box, that seems to be my motto!

Head on over to I Heart {ippity} we have such creative gals!

I love everything they make, every week.

Go and see for yourself.

Have a great day and remember this is the season of giving, not the season of stress and greed!  Relax and enjoy and don’t get caught up in the worldly view of this season.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Sketch Challenge…Are you ready???

11 Sep

As it is September 11th, I could not write a post and pretend that my thoughts are not heavy with memory of this day 10 years ago.

This will be my “I know exactly what I was doing” when the events of 9-11-2001 happened.  This is a picture from a very old scrapbook of mine.  This was taken on 9-12-2001, our firestation had the flags at half mass and my kids were gazing up to the flag.

A friend of mine asked to have this message shared:

“On this 10 th Anniversary I would wish everyone take a minute and remember what happened on 09/11/2001. Don’t ever forget. Be humbled by the loss and strengthened by the heroism. If you see and member of the armed forces, thank them for their service and be respectful of this date. The date that will forever be etched into our lives and our Generation. May the Angel’s fly high and the lost soar to the heavens with the glory and peace as their comfort.”

I just wanted to share my thoughts before delving into the Crafty things I have to share today.

Now, to switch gears, to my project for today’s post:

Here is our sketch for this challenge:
This challenge starts today, September 11, 2011 and goes through till September 17, 2011.
Right now on Paper Issues our theme is LEARNING CURVE.
I have a habit of forgetting my camera at home and had to ask for a volunteer for some 1st day of school pics…
Luckily I had a taker and here is my creation for them, based on the sketch above.
This was a fun, FUN page to make.
To begin with I have to put a plug-in for Tally Scrapper.com.
Most of the paper is from the September Tally Kit.  Fabulous things all matched and coordinated for you by one of the most talented designers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
You can order yours HERE:
I thought the paper was perfect for this little girl layout! The apples are from a file from My Scrap Chick.
Everything else is just a mixture of coordinating things I had on hand.
I especially love the made up heart “APPLE”.  I love just making up my own things.
I used to think that things like dimension and sewing on pages was a total DIVA thing, but I guess I have turned my self into a DIVA because now, I love to sew and add dimension to my pages and cards.  I have learned to never say never, that’s for sure!
I know you will love the prize shown at the top of this post.  You have a week!
Meaning a whole week to get a layout done and get yourself entered for that prize.
Get yourself over to Sketch Inspirations, get the sketch printed and start scrappin!
If you do, link back to me or let me know so I can see what you have created!
For now..I am off to clean up one very messy and unorganized scrap room!
Wish me lunch and have a great rest of your Sunday.

The Evolution of a Sweet Stamps Card, POLKA STYLE!!

8 Mar

When it comes to crafting, well card making, I would say I am not intimidated by much.  I have graduated to DIVA level and can SEW on cards, I can paper piece, I can color enough to fake it!  Ok, I have not even 1 COPIC to my name, but I was side swiped by this weeks SWEET STAMPS DT challenge.

Do you want to show me up? Yeah, I am talking to you, CG and Mrs. Analog, I dare you to try this one.  You do realize all the challenges at Sweet Stamps Blog, have a prize?  A $20.00 store gift certificate!  Hmmm, I wonder if I can enter?   Just kidding!

The challenge is to use Vellum on your project.  If you have any Sweet Stamps to use, all the better!

When given this challenge we were introduced to a technique called PARCHMENT CRAFT.  I watched the video, and it seemed easy enough.  Well let me tell you, I think you are either born to EXCEL or NOT EXCEL at this technique.  I had a challenging time, getting this to look beautiful like the cards I’d seen in the videos and pictures I’d seen.

When I call this post THE EVOLUTION of a SWEET STAMPS CARD, that is really what this process was for me.  I had to have input from experts and I had to fine tune this before I was confident enough to post the card and say, “I made this!”

Without further ado, here is my finished product:

The stamp that I used is called FORGET ME NOT HEART -7029.

Parchment Craft as defined by me, to you, is to take a piece of vellum, stamp it, emboss it, turn the vellum over and dry emboss the image from the back.

What happens when you do this, is that you stretch the vellum and when the vellum is stretched, it turns to a darker, opaque white.

The polka dots in the center of my card are the perfect example of what happens to the vellum.

I also did the dry embossing on the area just outside the middle, that is what all my flowers are mixed into.

The white flowers I made were very fun to make.  To get the petals to curl up, I simply stretched them in a curl by dragging my fingernail across the surface.  Think of the way ribbon curls when you run scissors along the surface, well the vellum did the same thing, by just using my hands, NO SCISSORS NEEDED:)

I do think the card turned out to be a very ELEGANT looking card.  Fit for a princess, a bride a mom or a special friend.  If you have not tried parchment craft or crafting with vellum, here is your chance.  You never know if you are going to like something, unless you try it, right?

I would HIGHLY encourage you to go over to the SWEET STAMPS BLOG.  The cards that they have made for this challenge, are pretty much jaw dropping!  Some of them, are masters, I daresay, of this craft!  I would love for you to join along.  Leave a comment and let me know, are you in?

Have a great week, I will be back with a CHEERY LYNN DESIGNS post on Friday, come back and visit then!

The neat thing about this card, is that it is a HYBRID card.

I am working with Creations By Julie.

She creates some really wonderful things.  I used a template from her December Sweet Cards Template for the card above.

Any of her templates can be purchased at her store over at Ginger Scraps.

Here store is CREATIONS BY JULIE.

For my TUESDAY TRIO card I manipulated the template to suit my needs.  The card below, I used the TEMPLATE pretty much, as is.

Close up.

Right now, if you visit Julie’s blog, she already has another new TEMPLATE to try free.  If you have never tried one out, this is a perfect way to see how much fun they are.  Here is the link:

Have a great day!!

Never forget, the REALLY important things!

14 Nov

This is going to be a very small post today.  I have been on a Mini Vacation with the hubby and our two smaller kids…

He says, not much of a vacation for me, because I would not allow the little ones to stay at home with someone else.  When my kids are little, I have never been one, who could just leave them.  Even for a vacation.  Oh well!

My thought is that, hopefully when they are older, that is my time for quiet vacations.

Hey I allowed the other 5 to stay at home (Note, they are all older, and are staying with friends, etc.)

Tomorrow I will get back into the swing of things.

Today I have a lovely tribute to share with you.

Awhile ago, my Groovy Team Leader, GROOVY DEB, had asked us to all compile our PINK projects together.  As it turns out, I guess I use PINK  A LOT.

We were not able to get this put together in time to share with you in October, but that does not matter.  The message is still the same.

In Groovy Deb’s own words,

“PLEASE take the time to listen to the beautiful words of songs by Mercy Me playing as you take a look at the women we have lost, women we love still, the women who are not even grown women yet.

…Sorry we could not show this in October, but EVERY month should be October when it comes to this cause!!! We are in this together, so please fight for the cure so that WE Women stand united against the uninvited!!!”

I hope you take the time to watch this, I loved putting this together for the IF IT’S GROOVY blog.
